Ping On Restaurant

The staff is very nice. I have been there many times, and will continue to go. However I think the food is average Chinese food, and the prices could be lower. The wait times can be extremely slow, even on days where they are hardly busy at all. I once went there at 11:00am (which is when they open) and waited inside for just over 15 minutes before a staff member actually came out from the back to greet us and seat us. The only reason she came out was because we actually called the restaurant on our cell phones so they would come out to answer it. If my brother didn't enjoy the food so much, I would be dining elsewhere.

The chicken egg foo young was greasy and what wasn't greasy, was dry. The chicken tasted old. That was overpowered as well by the flavor of old grease. A common theme with anything I ordered that was fried there, including the egg roll. Specifically asked for hot mustard and it was not included. Second time this has happened here. Clearly somebody's skimping on not including extras and not changing the oil. Garlic chicken was beyond bland and the chicken was dry and tasted old. I regret that I ordered from there and will not be going back again. Just too many good Chinese options in the area to suffer through this again. I love leftovers but, sadly, threw these away. Why suffer twice.

I love Ping On on Garfield and Canal. Best Chinese restaurant in the area. Food is always good...and the staff is always friendly and try to remember you if you're a regular. Been eating here for 5 years now and was glad to find this place when I first moved into the area. Never had a bad meal or experience
