Szechuan Express

Lunch cost me around $7 with tax. It’s cheap but not good value. I got beef in garlic sauce and it had majority vegetables and only a few pieces of meat. The menu should state that this dish comes with mixed veggies but it didn’t. Not only that, the veggies weren’t cut up they were huge chunks. And some of them weren’t fresh they were going brown and wilted. Also the sauce was pepper sauce not garlic. I didn’t like my food. Won’t be back.

I only go out my way and leave reviews if the place is either outstanding or downright horrible. Let me say that this is the best Chinese food place I have ever had in my entire life. I am a very picky eater especially with Chinese food and this place does not disappoint. Whoever has had anything negative to say about the quality of the food here I am convinced that they are either miserable with there lives or is just used to eating low quality food. Try this place one time and you will never try another Chinese food restaurant again.

When I ordered steamed dumplings and fried chicken wings on the side I noticed how extremely small the both of them were. The dumplings were not even stuffed well aside from being small and the chicken wings look like they came off of pigeons. Also every time I order a quart of egg drop wonton soup I get very few wontons, and most of it is egg drop soup. The stingy greedy owner of this place must have told the employees to do this.I don't care if this region has expensive restaurants with stingy small portions, customers should always get their money's worth with a good value to make return business happen. Two other Chinese establishments down here in Edgewater do the same thing, China King, and Duck King. 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕

There must be a Karen microwaving frozen Chinese food in the back. How do you mess up dumplings? My fried dumplings tasted like someone boiled pork without seasoning and threw it in the deep frier. Rice tastes like Uncle Ben’s and general tsos is smothered in black pepper and what tastes like hot sauce? Where are the schezuan peppers? Also they said “chicken for 2” and it came in a regular combination container 😂 Overpriced and Tasteless. Not sure how it has such high ratings.

YALL THIS PLACE HAS SUCH GOOD FOOD ok so on the gloomy day of november 22, 2020, at the ripe hour of 6 pm, i was hungry for some good chinese food. so i go onto uber eats (since the chinese food place near me doesnt take card) and i search for a cheap chinese food place to order from! knowing me, i set the delivery fee to lowest and i spent minutes looking for a good place when i found szechun express. i didnt look at the location since idc about how long it takes the food just has to be good and i see that the prices are really nice! so i order from there after reading some reviews on google saying its really good so im waiting for my order (it took like 30 min to an hour to get here, i dont mind because like i said it just has to taste good) and immediately the smell wafted into my nose (wafted? im trying to use big words lol) and woo wee yall that was heavenly. so the presentation of the lo mein i got was a 10/10, it was in this cute plastic black bowl which was new to me bc usually its in the takeout boxes that fold into a plate. the lo mein had like cabbage (maybe lettuce?), mushrooms, onions, the noodles of course, and like some other stuff but i forgot <33 so 11/10 it was amazingg i inhaled it in 2 seconds. then the shrimp egg roll was bomb had like cabbage which was nice so yeah i recommend going to szechun express for a good meal 😼😼😼
