I learned about this bakery when I was walking down detroit and I will always go there for bread now. Their rustic Italian is the best rustic Italian I've ever had. I would recommend this bakery to everyone.
My partner who is French and always in search of a good baguette was pleased with his purchase and I have to agree. Will be back to try out more breads and offerings. It was open on a Sunday morning and seemed very popular in the neighborhood.
You'd be hard pressed to find a better bread shop in Lakewood. I've been going to Breadsmith for years now, and while the bread is more expensive, it's worth the price point. My husband, daughter and I go ever single week and have become obsessed with the English Muffin Bread (on Sundays only), the Onion Rye, Tuscan Herb, and the Granola Bread. In addition to tasty loaves of love, they dish up some desserts (the chocolate brownies are out of this world and you get a lot of bang for your buck) and pastries. I bring cinnamon rolls to my family in New York every time I visit because they all love them. And when my family visits me in Lakewood, they always stop at Breadsmith and take some pastries and loaves of bread home back to New York. Hands down, this place is the jam.
Fabulous. You gotta try the onion rye on thursday. You will never eat any other kind of toast again. Perfect with corned beef too.
Amazing fresh bread. They will slice leaves for you. Love picking a mix of small breads, mostly ciabatta. Chocolate chip cookies are good too along with the cinnamon rolls. Also bought some pear jam. So delicious!!!!
What a gem of a bakery in Lakewood! The shop is so inviting and the staff are friendly and welcoming. And what a terrific selection of breads and other tasty items. My day is always brightened when I’m in this shop. Such a wonderful small, independent business to support. Highly, highly recommended!
