Bright Side is clearly the spot to see and be seen in Cleveland! I visited for brunch, and had a somewhat mixed experience. Our reservation unknowingly placed us at a high top (which is a nightmare for my back issues) so we asked for another table, only to be told no, they were all taken - except no one ever arrived at the lower tables during our brunch. There were issues with the timing of food, with one entree arriving a solid 15 minutes before the other. Ultimately the food was good and the staff kindly removed the second entree charge without being asked, but it was an interesting experience!
I was pleasantly surprised by Brightside!
The pictures online do not do it justice. The service is amazing and the food is so good.
I went on a Sunday and they have an all day brunch menu. I was also told that their menu changes often so make sure to check their website for the current menu 🩷
We came here for brunch; it seems like this might be a great spot for dinner but we were in the area for brunch before leaving town. We got the squash pizza, Berry Crowaffle, and Pommes Frites. Squash pizza was a little weird - I get what they’re trying to do - but wasn’t for us. Crowaffle was the best thing we got - the berry compote and toppings made it delicious. Pommes Frites we’re a little more like steak fries than we would have wanted but loved the dipping sauces!
Loved the duck fries with garlic and rosemary. Pizza crust was cooked the way a flatbread should be. Salmon with soba noodles was a very special dish. Salmon was seared perfectly but not over cooked, and the noodles were flavored perfectly.
My husband and I ate dinner there last night and the food was amazing! We are vegetarian so typically the options are limited at restaurants and very meh. That wasn’t the case at Bright Side, all the food was great. Best cornbread we’ve ever had, I loved the stuffed squash, and my husband scarfed down his whole plate of rigatoni. Dessert was to die for. The place was beautiful but my only issue was the loud music. It seemed like the restaurant wanted to make the atmosphere more bar-like (we were there from 9-10:30pm on a Friday) but everyone there was eating with groups or on dates and the music just didn’t feel cohesive with that.
I had my team's work holiday party at Bright Side & it was a success! I was planning it for a couple months, and was coordinating with Bryan Marn the entire time. He was so great at communicating, answering all my questions, accommodating my many requests, etc. My team had the best time and I very much recommend hosting a private party in their Emerald Room.
We hosted our wedding rehearsal here for 28 guests and had the most wonderful time!! We even told the Ritz Carlton to recommend their future weddings to host events here.
Prior to the event, Justin was very communicative. He made sure to have everything ready to go for us. He purchased decorations and was there to greet us upon arrival. He made sure we felt like we were treated like we were first class! I never went without a drink in my hand.
We had purchased the buffet option with steak and fish. We also had the carrot cake for desert (see photo).HIGHLY recommend the carrot cake. Everyone was raving about it and the appetizers. We seriously couldn’t have picked a better place. The space was huge and beautiful.
Great place in the heart of Ohio city. Their food selection is small bud really good! Their cocktails are not the greatest, but still above average.
The venue tries to be somewhere between fine dining and a coquette bar and it fails a little bit at both, hence the atmosphere might feel a little bit out there, but overall not a bad place to grab some dinner.
When we couldn't find an Easter brunch buffet with space left, we turned to local restaurants that serve brunch. A co-worker told me that she had made reservations at Bright Side, so I checked out the menu and it looked amazing. Reservations were very easy to make through Open Table.
The food and drinks were truly top notch. My sister had the espresso martini, her boyfriend had the Bloody Mary, and I had the peach Bellini. All three drinks were excellent. My sister and I had the eggs benedict which we both really enjoyed. Her boyfriend had the soft scrambled eggs on top of challah toast. He loved the eggs and the home fries, but was not a fan of the toast. We started all this with the bagel board, of which I attached a picture. Everything was fresh and the ingredients were of high quality.
Noise level is very good too as the space is large. We would definitely return if it fits our plans.
We had a wonderful meal at Bright Side. Atmosphere was great and our server Robin was fast with just the right amount of attentiveness and very knowledgeable about the menu. Of course you also have to love the full array of Market Garden beer!
I reserved a back room for a party and was extremely happy with the service, food and atmosphere! Bryan, the event coordinator was helpful and easy to work with and we had a 10/10 experience! We also enjoyed the nightlife atmosphere downstairs afterwards! We will be back for sure.
Good atmosphere, overall good experience. Disco ball was a fun touch, kept the old ceilings. TV’s over the bar were unexpected. What I’ve always considered to be the best fries in town came out soggy and undercooked. The new sauce selection is disappointing, the old three mayo’s were a million times better.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We stopped for a quick dinner and had an excellent server in Faith. She was knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. The food was delicious and great drink and wine offerings. Would recommend the pork belly, wedge salad, chili chicken and banana pudding. Justin is the manager and was very friendly and welcoming to the guests. Love the atmosphere and decor. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends.
Nice vibe for the area, service was great. Food was kind of meh. Had the Ballin' Omlette, Mushroom Pizza and Milk Bread. All were just ok, nothing was outstanding that I'd go out of my way to try it again.
All of our drinks from the bar were sub-par. Ranged from overly bitter to watered down.
Absolutely fantastic! The food is delicious and executed to a high standard! Great music, sights, sounds, and smells. I really enjoyed the mocktails! Bring your friends and your family.
There's been a lot of world traveling between my first visit to Bar Cento/Bier Markt and my most recent visit to Bright Side CLE -- but what a wonderful mix of new and old!
The Pommes Frites were magical, as always. Love the ketchup and aioli -- my Filipino wife liked the garlic aioli more than me -- and the curry was kind of a miss. I appreciate that it's a good quality sauce but I didn't love it. EDIT: one of the flavor profiles I loved in Korea was 쌈장 (ssamjang) and I think it would go well with the fatty frites.
Crispy Deviled Eggs were a nice twist. Maybe go down a size in eggs as it felt a little inflated, but it was still delicious and a wonderful texture.
Spicy Chicken Pizza was great. I loved the twist on traditional flavor profiles and it's a great savory treat. Might be anathema but I'll say it: we took half of it home and it was better chilled/reheated.
Last but certainly not least, the bone-in pork belly was a revelation. I lived in S. Korea for 4+ years and I'm used to 삼겹살 being chewy and fatty beyond belief... but yours is really something special.
Additionally: the Old Zahm Märzen was superlative. Fantastic balance and is definitely in my top three all-time.
Thanks for a wonderful experience!
The food and drinks here are excellent! I cannot resist not getting an espresso martini every time I visit. I recommend this place to all my friends who are looking for a trendy, exciting place for dinner with excellent drinks and amazing food!
