Ho Choi Express

This is the first time I had the opportunity to order from this establishment. It is near where I live and I felt I would give the restaurant a try. I ordered the general tsao's chicken and my partner ordered the sesame chicken. I had asked up front if I could have fried rice instead of white rice. The lady who took my order insisted that the white rice was sufficient with my order. Having never ordered from here before I gave the lady the benefit of the doubt. In addition, I asked for 2 egg rolls and an order of wanton soup. To be honest the general tsao's chicken didn't taste like what I have experienced at other establishments. In other words, I didn't care for the dish. The portion size was not generous for either dish and the total cost was considerable higher than other similar Chinese restaurants. The biggest issue I had was that my debit card was not returned to me. I had an old prepaid debit I wanted to use first to use what was left on the card. The last came back out and indicated that the prepaid card didn't have enough to cover the cost. There was $30.00 on the card. Sadly, I didn't ask the total of the order as I usually do up front. I gave the lady my bank debit card to cover the difference of $8.00. To be charged $38.50 for two people i thought was excessive. The worse part is that at the end, when I was signing off on the receipts, she did not return my bank debit card. I didn't notice until late the next day. I contacted the restaurant and told the lady she did not return my bank debit card. She told me she would have contacted me immediately if she had the card. I tried to explain that when she brought the receipts out got me to sign, she did not let me finish and abruptly hung up on me. I should note that the order was placed near closing and she may have misplaced my card without realizing it.

So you know how when you get food poisoning or a stomach bug, you generally don't want to eat the last thing you had? Well, the night I got sick from a stomach bug that was going around, I ate here for the second time... And I still wanted to eat there again immediately after I got better. Basically, I didn't know it was possible to get Chinese food this good. The next best place is Asian Pearl and it still isn't like this. This place is take out Chinese food heaven. Seriously, heaven. It is hands down the best I have ever had, from the crispy perfection that they get their tofu to the clean fresh and flavorful General Tso's sauce, to their very light, beautifully executed breading.... Not sold yet? How about the fact that the owner can and will make special dishes once she gets to know her customers and that they actually make things extra spicy, or how much she cares about her food being perfect, or how tender every morsel of meat is? Get there while you can still order and get food in a reasonable amount of time because pretty soon this place is going to have a seriously long wait.

The woman that took my order was not very pleasant. She was very brief with me when I asked her a couple questions about the specials, as if my presence was annoying her. She told me my order had to be To-Go even though there was a family of 4 dining inside. She made my order. Rice was dry, and chicken portion was small, yet tasty. To top off my meal I received a broken fortune cookie with no fortune inside. I guess that's a sign I shouldn't go there in the future lol.

I'll start with this. I made the phone call at 7:17 for take-out. I ordered quickly, as I had looked at the online menu. I ordered two main dishes and a noodle dish, and was told it would be 25min. I drove to the store and arrived right at 25min from when I called. I went into the store and noticed there was only one person in the store on a Saturday night! I should have known that was a bad thing when I arrived and I sat down to wait for the food. Shortly after I arrived another person came in, and waited with me. After about 10min the other person was greeted, paid and given their order. I was then asked to pay while the ONE person was at the register. Both orders took a while to be input and processed, but I thought okay it's only one person so hopefully my orders should just be finishing up. I wish that was the case, after paying I proceeded to wait over 20min to receive my food! Ridiculous to have them tell me it was going to take 25min and not receive my order until 8:13 nearly an hour after my order. I originally had this rated as a two star because I thought the food was well above average for a take-out, but in the end it was not take-out food when it takes nearly an hour to prepare or, and the portion sizes were well below average of what a take-out restaurant would provide. I don't know if this was an off night, but from reading the reviews it doesn't seem like it. I will not be going back again

My wife and I have been coming here since they opened. The food is amazing, and Victoria the owner is the nicest person you could meet, along with her Husband who cooks all the great food. Our favorite is the "Crispy shredded chicken", the breading on it is so crispy and the flavors are to perfection. I could eat there everyday. Try it, you wont be disappointed.

We have been here 3 times in the last few weeks and we love it! The food is nice and fresh and clean. I also feel really good after I eat the food. We have had the sesame chicken, the dynasty lo mein, chicken and broccoli, more lo mein... seriously, this place is good. It is more of a take out place than a sit down restaurant. They really do take their time preparing the food but it is worth the wait. Really nice couple running the restaurant. Come out and support a new entrepreneur!! Funny, three of my favorite restaurants are all next door to each other.

I don't know where the stars came from. I would give this place minus 5 stars if I could. Because this place is so close to our condo I figured I would give it a try. I called my order in 25 minutes before my arrival. When I got there and after I paid, they told me they still didn't start to prepare my order. Okay I waited another 20 minutes. The portions were very small. The establishment was very dirty. They seemed not to care. No paper plates or plastic ware. Never seen a take out so bad and unorganized. When I finally got home to eat our meal I found it to be the worst prepared, worst tasting takeout food I had ever had and I've been to numerous takeout restaurants in my long life. Usually I wouldn't trash talk a business like this but this one ranks as the worst I ever experienced.
