My Mom and I love Noble Fish. I've been going here for years. Being that we're Japanese, this is the #1 place we're you can get you're Japanese and Asian specialty foods, housewares, fresh fish and SUSHI!! This is the only place where my Mom goes. She remembers when it was located in Detroit before they came to Clawson.
There is a sushi bar in the back. The sushi is so fresh you'll be wanting more until you you're so full you can't eat another bite. Don't expect anything fancy because your not going to get it here. You're going to get authentic sushi made only by the best. Fresh fish is always delivered daily and don't forget to tip because they work hard to get your order.
Absolutely best sushi! My husband and I tried their sushi 2 years ago for the first time and got hocked on it. We have been fans of sushi for many years and have tried many different places, fancy and so much, but Noble Fish quality bits, so far, every place that we have tried. Even though this place has a very limited capacity of sitting places and extremely tight, their cozy atmosphere attracts many people every day. I love this place and their sushi;))
Love their small selection of Japanese snack, fish, and kitchen Knick nacks.
Ordered Sushi to go. They have good sushi. Not my favorite but absolutely fine. Really good even.
Staff is super nice. Noble Fish is a staple of Clawson for a reason.

I picked up 3 huge sushi platters for a celebration of life event. The invoice is nearly $300, but there is a stingy limit of only 25 chopsticks and a handful of soy sauce packets, even though this order was to feed 100+ people 🤔. I was told that I could purchase additional chopsticks, so I had to spend $3+ on something that should've been included. I was in a hurry and forgot to buy soy sauce too, so we ran out of it. It's the principle, not the additional cost, that would otherwise make this review 5 stars. If you plan to order large quantities of sushi, don't forget that you may need to buy additional chopsticks and soy sauce and allow time to wait in the retail line to purchase them. I recommend bringing a box to transport large sushi platters since the plastic trays are not sturdy enough for the weight of the sushi.
The quality of the sushi is the best in this area and Noble carries most of the Japanese groceries that I need.
Attached is a picture of one of the 3 sushi platters. (I put ice packs on top, hence the condensation.)
Growing up in rural MI, my Japanese family and I would drive over two hours once a week for years to eat at Noble Fish-- a true testament to its authentic and delicious food! Thankfully, we moved closer to metro Detroit and no longer have to drive as far but either way, it's definitely worth it!
Pros: the sushi is fresh, authentic, and you can tell that the chefs care about the quality
Cons: the space is very, very small. If you prefer to eat in a very open, comfortable space, get the sushi to-go!
Lots of prepared rolls and other items ready for grab and go. Ika salad is delicious. Everything is super fresh and tasty.
I've been coming here for lunch & grocery shopping over 11 years now and they never disappoint! The sushi is some of the best I've had, and everything is pretty reasonably priced, especially the import items you can't find at most local American grocery stores. The addition of White Wolf nearby has only improved things, as well - so nice to occasionally grab some fresh baked cream rolls or shokupan! I recommend this place to my coworkers every chance I get. Thanks for always being a great place to shop & eat, Noble Fish!
Noble Fish offers the absolute best sushi I've had outside of California or New York. The seafood tastes fresh and has just an unexplainable extra bit of flavor and satisfaction you can't find anywhere else in Michigan. I'm a big fan of the traditional nigiri. Their menu has been updated in recent years to include some American style sushi rolls. The dragon roll is very good. Enjoy.
