Green's Smalltown Diner

Small town atmosphere.... great staff and pretty good food. Had the catfish tonight. The batter was very light and the fish was great. Tried a bite a steak.... very good for a thin 8oz cut. The corn fritters were very tasty and cooked just right. The salad bar was very simple, but fresh. The best part of the salad bar was the potato salad. Don't blink or you will pass this place as it us not super visible from hwy 31....

My husband and I both ordered the 8 ounce prime rib while our adult daughter ordered two sides. We ordered fried green tomatoes and fried pickles to start. The appetizers were very good. We both ordered our streaks medium rare with only dales for seasoning. The steaks were thin but still cooked to order although my husband's had to be redone since it was cold. They have an all you can eat catfish meal on friday nights and that was likely to be the problem. The fish is apparently fantastic(if you like fish) and the kitchen was really hopping. Most tables had the fish but the few other things I saw made us decide to go back and try other choices at a future time. Even though they were busy I don't think anyone felt like they were not getting good service.

My first time eating here. Came here to get breakfast while I waited on my prescription at CVS. Very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Lunch buffet was hot and ready to go at 10am. I ordered the Tuesday special from the menu which was eggs bacon grits and a biscuit with a side of sausage gravy and a sweet tea to drink. Everything came out great. Bathroom was clean. Definitely coming back to try the buffet. If you are looking for a old fashioned country style restaurant this is the place.
