Review Asiana Thai And Sushi Of Hyde Park - Cincinnati

This is a very solid, well-liked place to grab both Thai food and sushi. It's a pretty small place, hit or miss on whether you can get a seat, but I didn't have to wait for a table either time I dined in. For the food I've tried: the papaya salad was well-balanced, subtly spicy and sweet, and came in a generous portion. The spicy rainbow and Sunday morning tolls were both high quality. The shrimp panang curry had really good, fresh flavors, and quality jumbo shrimp; 5/10 spice was very bearable and somewhat mild for somebody with a pretty high spice tolerance. I'd happily eat it again. For service: this place is not first-timer friendly. You walk in and kind of stand around awkwardly wondering if anybody will seat you, and if you seat yourself, you wait awkwardly wondering if anybody will tend to you. On my most recent visit, I had several wrong orders brought to my table, and my food came out 10+ minutes after my lady's food. The food here is undeniably excellent, but I'm more inclined to just order takeout in the future.

Went out to lunch with office friends. We had fabulous food, great service and quick seating. Highly recommend the pad Thai and Massaman curry. The lunch portions came in cute little bento boxes. We also tried the Thai spring rolls and coconut shrimp appetizers. #BestThaiFoodCincinnati

My wife and I have been told that Asiana has fantastic sushi many times. Last year I was looking for "best pineapple fried rice in Cincinnati" surprisingly there were relevant results and Asiana had reviews about PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE! We finally got a couple hours to ourselves sat evening and stopped in for early dinner. Very glad we did. They don't serve alcohol BUT allow you to bring your own! Very cool. We didn't know that prior to sitting down though. But no biggie. My wife got the drunken noodles (the young lady next to us ordered that, which prompted her to check it out) she loved it. I tried it, and it was very good. Service was great, friendly and attentive. The place was very clean, and comfortable and my wife was smitten by the cozy little 2 chair table by the window seating that we had. "It's so cute" to be exact. I wouldn't recommend it for any conversations that need to be kept private or that could get heated. There is no privacy. Parking is suitable but they seem to run pretty much full house so you may need to back out of the lot to let someone out before you can park. Food was gorgeous, generous, and piping hot when it should have been and the sushi temp was perfect. I'm not a fan of warm sushi. IMHO it should NEVER be warmer than almost chilled. We'll go back for sure. Give it a whirl it won't disappoint.

The restaurant is tiny, the service is fast, the portions are a good size. The waiter missed part of the order though where we asked for more veggies in the curry. The food was great overall. Definitely looking forward to visiting again.

I had a great time. The staff was very accommodating for us.. We had a larger party (there are no reservations only negative), but the staff rearranged the table in the smaller dining area so we could fit comfortably. The wait time for my party was a little long only because we ordered over a 100-piece sushi boat, but the wait time for other food that I observed was extremely fast. The best part of the whole experience was food. The sushi rolls were to die for. I highly recommend that if you are in the rookwood area, you give them a try.

Fantastic sushi (sooo fresh!) and aromatic Thai food! I love both so I was very happy to find them at Asiana! We dined there (great, friendly service) and after that I went back for a take out (both 5 stars). I highly recommend!

Dinner here tonight was amazing, it hit the spot. Was greeted immediately upon arrival and sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Our server, Nitty did a phenomenal job in insuring that our table had everything we needed. The food was amazing, we ordered Crab Rangoons that were perfectly crispy, and the sushi rolls were delicious. Thank you to Nitty for making our experience so enjoyable. We will be back soon!

Friendly service and cute mom and pop atmosphere. Food was absolutely fantastic! Best crab rangoons I've ever had! We shared the orange chicken and Sunday morning roll. Each Sunday morning piece was individually fried for a delicious crispy covering. Not much seating, but they make it work when busy. Not made for large parties, so more of a two to four person set up. Loved my pineapple fried rice I bought for lunch the next day. Added cilantro which was fantastic!

I ordered takeout on their website after I was disappointed a few weeks back from a different sushi spot. I'm in cincy for a short period and wanted to give the sushi one more shot. It was the best nigiri sushi I have ever had. I've been all over the world (not Japan yet) and never had nigiri this good. Specifically, the yellowtail (i think its yellowtail), which is usually not my favorite, tasted and melted like soft butter. Unbelievable. The eel and California rolls were also delicious. Highly recommend.

Very nice place! The food and service were awesome. The rolls are a bit expensive in my opinion, but it’s well worth it for how fresh and delicious they taste. Btw they go heavy on the onion in the miso, in case that’s not how you like it. The thai iced tea is also amazing! I will definitely be coming back, I want to try new foods here.

My wife and I just went to Asiana Hyde Park Thai and Sushi and were pleased. The owner was very friendly and greeted us with a big smile. We found out about the restaurant through Zomato and saw that it had a high rating, so we decided to check it out.
I ordered the sushi and my wife got the Pad Thai. We shared an order of the Crab Rangoon. The Crab Rangoon came first and this was the best I've ever had and I've had plenty. This had fresh not imitation Crab in it. The Pad Thai was good however we ordered a level 2 spicyness and it was sort of bland, so you might rethink your spicyness level. Now, the Sushi I will say was very pleasing to the eye, but it was way too small. These rolls were about the diameter of a quarter and half the thickness of most Sushi I get. I am more used to rolls more in the half dollar diameter or bigger. They tasted great but my take away was the bang for your buck aspect since the prices were regular prices but for smaller amounts. One last thing that we noticed is the water they serve is standard tap water. By now you would think all places would serve filtered water. It doen't cost much the add a water filter. All-in-all we liked the place and will go back again.

Everything a restaurant should be, stopped for the first time today at lunch. I was greeted by a friendly helpful waitresses. I assumed she was the owner but not sure. I started with an iced tea. Fantastic, very fresh clean and just delicious. I ordered the Tom yum Kooch soup (not sure of spelling). Two big wild shrimp, perfect heat and good balance of flavore. For the main dis it was pork and green beans. Very simple very delicious. What a gem.

I used to live around the corner from here and this was my go to Thai spot. Maybe that's why I've never reviewed it. ( I took it for granted!) I was in the area, and stopped by for shrimp pad thai to go. It was hot and ready and the woman who greeted me was super warm. I loved the presentation: Colorful and pretty. They forgot to add a fork to the bag, so all the way home I had to fight the temptation of putting my hand in to get a taste, lol! Once I made it home I was able to enjoy the amazing flavor. It was light with minimal spice (I'm not about that life). The Shrimp were huge, and flavorful, but they left the tails on. I found this out the hard way *crunch* Its all good. Great meal, good portion!

Delicious!. My husband and I regularly make the drive to Asiana based on their fantastic pad thai. It's a small place and the decor could use an update but the staff is always nice and the food is just so...darn...good! Prices are decent and it's BYOB so I always pop by the liquor store down the block beforehand. The only thing aside from the pad thai i've tried was sushi, and it was yummy (nothing life-changing). Definitely worth checking this place out!

Great Lunch. Absolutely love this place. My sister and I went for lunch one day after reading the mostly good reviews and I am now obsessed with this hole in the wall. Not going to lie... it looks a little worrisome from the outside, but it's a perfect example of "dont judge a book by its cover." The lunch menu is large, the lunch special is an even better deal, a noodle dish with a side of one small sushi roll (6 pieces) for $7/$8. I got pad thai with a spicy tuna sushi side and it was delicious! I can't wait to go back for lunch. Can't comment on dinner.. haven't been yet. One tiny complaint is that our waitress wasn't exactly what I would call "friendly." Still, she got the job done.

BEST THAI / SUSHI RESTAURANT IN CINCINNATI, OH. I love sushi, I come here often for fresh eel sushi...and it is FRESH. The service is 5 star service. I went there with a bunch of friends, Steve, John, Brett and Jordan for a graduation dinner for Brett. so our waitress's Toey served us. She was exceptionally a GREAT!!! server/waitress.

we first ordered the Thai Ice tea...sensational. BEST Thai tea I ever had. we ordered the crab puff....yummy for appetizers. Onto the main course, ordered the PAD THAI chicken, that was wonderful. The Pineapple stir fried was great also. I also ordered my favorite eel sushi...So FRESH. loved the presentation. I will be coming here more often for the sushi and the service from Toey...THANK YOU Toey :-)

Don't go here for sushi. My husband and I went to Asiana for the first time last night after reading reviews that the sushi was really good. Unfortunately, it was extremely subpar. There was barely any fish in any of the rolls we got, and it was definitely not worth the $80 we spent (with tip). We didn't try any of the other food, but if you want good quality sushi do not go to Asiana! I've had better, more flavorful grocery store sushi!

Best Date Night Ever = BYOB + Pad Thai. My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place. Its a small family owned place, only seats maybe 20 people in the whole restaurant. Bring your favorite bottle of wine (no corkage fee) and enjoy the pad thai. I would recommend getting one order of regular pad thai and one order of crispy pad thai and then splitting. We always get the crab puffs too. If you are just visiting, there is a wine store about a block north.

Very Authentic. This place is a candidate for best-Asian-food-place-in-Cincinnati-that-will-really-surprise-you. It's small and unassuming but seriously delicious.

Great hole in the wall. Asiana is very tiny, but delicious! I really love Pad Thai, but it seems like it has gotten extremely bland everywhere else in the city. Not here! Probably the best pad Thai I have had in Cincy. Sushi is great also. And BYOB- what more could you ask for! They provide glasses, corkscrews, etc; they will even keep it cold in the fridge for you (I cannot remember if they charge a corkage fee). This place is a great little gem.

Wow, we are just here on business and wanted Thai for the spice. This place is amazing, great dishes, prices, and we did the byob and they even chilled our bottles. Give this place two thumbs plus. We will be back.

Delicious!. The food is great, and the portion sizes are enough for two. My only complaint is that they're a little heavy on the spice - which is fine once you're aware of the fact. I generally like a medium level of heat on things - medium buffalo wings, etc. I ordered a 2 out of 4 spice on my pad thai and it was tough for me to eat. So just be conservative if you can't handle the heat!

Hidden gem well worth the visit.

Highly recommended even among the crowded Thai market. I'm lucky to live only a couple of blocks from this tiny, consistently delicious Thai option in the Hyde Park area. Their entrees are excellent -- don't just waste your time on generic pad thai, people! -- and their sushi offerings are some of the best I've had in town (try the Mexican roll for an inventive, fresh twist). Did I mention that you can get top-notch sushi delivered to your door from these people? Absolute heaven. Yes, the delivery order taker sometimes has a little trouble understanding what you're saying, but my order has always arrived at my door promptly and 100% correct. Also feel the prices are fair for the quality and quantity of what you get.

Asiana's all right with me. Had the garlic pepper chicken here last night around 10:00 pm. I requested it be as hot as it comes spice-wise. The chicken was served ringed by brocoli florets with white rice in a side dish. The garlic pepper sauce in the main dish was quite tasty and very rich. Portions were generous and most took some home. You can byob and they will keep it chilled for you if you have some plum wine or something you would like with your meal. A very pleasant experience.

Patience Required for Delivery. I love Asiana. I also love that they deliver. However, it takes almost 10 minutes of repeating yourself and talking to multiple people just to place an order over the phone. You then have to wait 40 minutes hoping that you get the correct item. I recommend dining in if at all possible.

Great value. I went with my wife and two kids on a Thur evening in April 2010. For $15.99 I had a boat of 9 sushi and a Califonria roll. Sushi tasted great and the pieces were large. My son had the shrimp pad thai (loaded with shrimp) which was one of the best I've tasted in Cincinnati. My daughter loved the crab rangoon. My wife nibbled on the what the rest of us ordered. We had pad thai left over to take some home.

No liquor license was the only downfall: a beer would have been so tasty.

The service was very good.

Great lunch deal. Went here for lunch and and it was cheap and very good. Had chicken stir fried rice and spicy tuna sushi. The fried rice was the way I love it with bits of scrambled egg and very good. the sushi was 6 peices and was a great deal for $7.99. Very good green tea too and all around fantastic. It is a bit small in side so you may need to wait if you get there later in the lunch crunch.

What a nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed our dinners. The service was spot on. Never once did I have to ask for a refill on my water. The Sushi we had was not the best and the rolls were very small. Two enthusiastic chop sticks up. Be sure to bring your favorite Vino.

Chillen in the best way: take out sushi, a lil bubbly and relaxing on the balcony. Summers here!

If you're driving near Rookwood Commons go near the old Norka Futon to this cozy little spot. It doesn't look like much from the street but what's inside is some tasty sushi! Here you have the inside. Very cozy. I ordered the Spider Roll (personal favorit

Asiana in Oakley is a small neighborhood Thai and Sushi bar; there's little room for much else. The dining room is tiny, making every chair a "window seat" overlooking Edwards Ave. Drinkers will probably enjoy the BYOB aspect of the place.
