Review The European Cafe - Cincinnati

Perfection! How I would describe this place! Very nice staff, and there was parking behind it. I got a delicious London fog to drink, some fruit, and a chocolate croissant! I will be back in the area in September and will definitely stop by here again! I had to be THAT person and have one of my teams calls on speaker for a little bit. I HATE doing that so I apologized to the owner (who was out on the floor) and not only was he more than gracious, but he took an interest in my job, and apologized if they were being too loud for me!! Loved the atmosphere as well!

Lovely little cafe. Their espresso drinks and chai latte were very tasty. We got some pastries and fruit and they were great. There is outdoor seating on the front patio which is perfect for a spring morning. Friendly staff and good menu. We’ll be back!!

Great basic menu for breakfast. Very reasonably priced. Extremely friendly owners, Andrea and Tom, and staff. 70 minute wait this morning down the street at nearby popular breakfast destinations, not worth the wait when you can come here!

My granddaughter and I were in the area and we wanted a sandwich shop. She had a Turkey Deli sandwich and she loved that they put cucumber on it! I had an incredible Short Rib Grilled Cheese! I'm so glad we yelped them, it's a darling restaurant. A place that you would want to come for breakfast or lunch! I would love a restaurant in my neighborhood like this one! Their customer service was great and it's small but very comfortable.

A nice quiet place to get a bite. The food was very good and the service was excellent.

Love this place! Tried it for the first time recently as a work lunch pick up. I was very happy that I did. I had the short rib grilled cheese and greens and it was delicious. My coworkers had the chicken salad croissant and vegy frittata. They both loved it. I love shopping and eating at mom and pop businesses. Definitely recommend this place! Very friendly and wonderful staff as well.

I absolutely loved it!. Had the Cuban and it was excellent! Great baked gooods. For a small quiet out of the way bistro, this is a excellent choice. Met one of the owners and she was delightful. My waitress was super.

Tried this cafe for the first time, staff and service was outstanding. Maintenance was very clean, as soon as you enter the cafe coffee aroma was pleasant. Latte with caramel flavor was delicious. I would definitely go back for coffee or other hot beverages.

A must visit small cute cafe. I had my first and the best lavender hot latte, I loved it. And the cinnamon coffee cake was absolutely delicious 😋. Clean and friendly cafe .

Lovely cafe in northern Cincy that shows a love for food, drink, and community. Menu had an artisan feel to it, prices were in line with the offerings. It was a great respite on our way out of town.

A bit overpriced, but I did enjoy my food! We ordered online and were helped promptly when we came in to pick up our food. It looked like a really cute eatery! I would most likely come by again.

Just visited for the first time in six years and am so impressed with what the new ownership accomplished in modernizing the interior and menu. Enjoyed an awesome street patio breakfast and the Americano was incredible. The menu is a little on the pricier side but it’s absolutely worth it for an occasional downtown Montgomery treat.

Coffee was fantastic (plain iced latte with oatmilk). Veggie fritta was a little bland. Service/aesthetic was fine.

The gyros were some of the best my wife and I have ever had! Including those we ate in Europe. The imported Italian espresso was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Prices were quite reasonable for the quality of fare and atmosphere. We will be visiting again, next time to try breakfast and pick up some of the Michigan specialty hard cider!

Nice little gem to begin they day. Espresso with rough cut sugar cube & little biscotti, perfect. The in house made Bread Pudding is a diamond in the rough of this dessert's familiar genre: A chocolate ganache (?) beneath dense layers with a rich caramel sauce drizzled atop. Enjoy!

Best gyros in town ! Love this place ! Excited about the makeover !

Good, not great, but a very solid meal for the price. Very good euros and a comfortable environment. We like stopping for a quick and easy meal!

Great food served fast. I'd recommend the chicken gyro. Friendly wait staff. Beware soft drinks are $2.50. Otherwise a great experience.

Showed up with my family at 1:40. Closing time is 2:00. I was told that they would make us some food for take out but I could not eat it there. I used to be in the restaurant business and if you came in the door near closing we took care of you like the first customer of the day. I won't be back.

This place is terrible. Floors and tables filthy. Food mediocre at best. Watched a wait person kick aside garbage after a party with small kids left then seat a couple there without sweeping the floor or wiping the table.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Today, a coworker and I went to place a carryout order. We ordered a Gyro omelet, euro breakfast, and breakfast special. The toast was burnt, in the wrong boxes, and messed up the entire order. Went back in once and they completely took out bacon from my orders and essentially fixed nothing. Called to complain and did absolutely nothing besides defend themselves. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!! NEVER GO HERE EVER!!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

Went there for lunch and the food and service was very good. As for anything in that area, the most challenging issue is parking.

Gone downhill. Restaurant dirty, tables not clean, restroom disgusting

My sister and I went to this cafè just the other day. We awkwardly walked in, and headed to the cash register. A worker mumbled something to us ending in " you have to take out" okay so my sister is all like sorry what? And then she walks away! We order something and sit in the cafè waiting for our food feeling humiliated! There are tons of open seats and here we are not even allowed to eat in the restaraunt! The lady walks over, gives us out bag of food, and we have to walk outside and eat in the dingy parking lot! But I guess the food was good

Yummy Gyros!. We went for lunch and really enjoyed our gyros. We also had the hummus with pitas, which was delicious. The gyro comes with chips, which left something to be desired.

Our service was outstanding. The place was a bit dirty, but we came on the tail end of the lunch rush, so that may be why. Someone also went a little overboard with the cheesy Halloween decorations, but to each his own. We got coffees to go, and will pass on that next time. Nothing special.

We will be back the next time we want a good gyro though. Best we have found that is close to home. (otherwise Sebastian's in West Price Hill for you west siders!)

I got the super gryo and it was well worth the money. The thing was huge. I opted to add some feta cheese to mine for a little more money and it is one of the largest and best gryos I've had in a long time. Go there and give them a shot.

Get off my lawn!. So, I went for lunch one day and had a pretty good hamburger, and I tried to gyros which is some of the best I've had. After eating that gyros, I was certain that this place was tops. I thought, hey, I'll take the girlfriend here, she'll love it!

Well, one afternoon I called in for their business hours that day, because they aren't set online. The girl on the phone said they'll be open til 8. I took my gf there after I got off work that day and we walk up to the door at 6:15pm, expecting them to be open. NOPE. The door was locked and the high school kids working there were cleaning up shop, ignoring me as I stood at the door. If you say you're open until 8, don't close two hours earlier.

What I thought was a decent place turned out to be a huge disappointment, and I have no intention of going back and would discourage anyone else from wasting their time there.

Not bad pretty good for the looks of the place. I go there for the gyros. I have never had a better one. I work in montgomery and would like to go over to montgomery inn more but there prices have gotten out of hand. Plus the food is blah. If you want a great gyro this is the place. I think the owner is greek.

Run quickly!. Cincinnati.com described this place as " a relaxed, chummy little place" but my last experience there it was anything but. I say last because I will never set foot in that place again.

The cook kept burning her efforts at the grill and I finally gave up on sending food back for another try since it was clear she had not mastered the whole cooking thing. When asked "how was everything" while paying (yes I paid for that disaster), the cook overheard my answer and came toward me yelling angrily.

I would recommend this place only for a scary Halloween experience.

Drive on by!. On a visit home to Cincy and always drove past this packed place and thought, how nice, a little cafe to visit for breakfast. NEVER GOING BACK! The waiter was nice but clueless. The bathroom was disgusting. The food horrible. My mother, sister, and myself took our two toddlers along. The breakfast took forever in coming. My mother's bagel was something that you could buy at Kroger's for 50 cents and the cream cheese came in a sqeezable package. The coffee was drinkable but certainly not European. I sent my French toast back. My daughter ate her toast but my sister and her child couldn't stomach the eggs they tried. The hashbrowns were from the freezer section. The bacon was less than diner worthy (and I lived in Jersey so I know my diners). When we asked for a refund after eating less than 1/3 of the meal, they offered to take off 3 dollars for the uneaten eggs. After we protested that we hardly ate the meal the manager screamed at me and told me that I was a drifter trying to get a free meal. Oh yeah, and the place was filled with flies in the middle of October. I am surprised this place is still in business!

Nice little place. My friend and I just dined here for lunch, we both had salad, I had the greek salad with gyros and he had the Buffalo Chicken salad, they were both large portions but not over facing.
My salad was very tasty, especially the feta, the gyros was ok, a think it was a little overcooked and a bit too salty for my tastes, my friends chicken was really tasty and very tender. Service was good and quick and I would go back again, their menu sounded great and the prices proved good value for money. A nice little place to eat when you fancy good home cooking at a great price.

Worst meal I've had in a long time.. I have to start off by saying that it has to be really bad for me to take the time to post a review on one of these sites or really good. This however, was really bad.

I just finished my meal from The European Cafe, so the memory and anger is still fresh. It started when we arrived at 1:20 (they close at 2pm on Sunday). They told us that they were closing and could only do to go. Not a problem, because we wanted it to go. on a side note, who basically closes 40 minutes before they really close?

My wife ordered a cold sandwich and I ordered a Chicken Parmesan Hoogie. While we waited we watched one of the employees hold the door for customers, only to have someone at the counter say we're closing and you can only get certain things to go. Our food was delivered fairly quick.

we walked back to the office and ate. My sandwich was terrible to say the least. Because they had started cleaning the grill, it was chicken bites (deep fried), with cold pizza sauce and cheese laid on top. The cheese had not melted and the sauce was cold, not warm or even room temperature. it was out of the icebox cold. Sounds like someone had already put the sauce away for the night and just threw some on.

I can only assume that the "cook" must have thought that the chicken was hot enough to heat up the sauce and melt the cheese. Boy am I mad. And it's only 1:51 as I touch this, but they're already closed.

I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will not be giving them my business anymore. if you plan on going, make sure its a good two hours before the posted closing time or you might be getting less than acceptable service.

Solid Gyro and Great Service. The food was good. I got the black and white gyro, a mixture of chicken and lamb. Very good, can still taste the cucumber sauce. Very big.

Then the service, best I've had in a while and it's when they screwed up! They forgot the chips with our gyros, so they gave us a whole basket. I wanted an ice cream cone, and when the lady behind the counter found out they were out of cones, she made me an ice cream sundae Dairy Queen Style in a cup at no up charge.

Lots of stuff on the menu looked good and was well priced, I'll be back

The gyro omelette was awesome!!! Homefries were tasty, too. Egg and bacon sandwich was nothing special. Highly recommend this place for brunch!

Perfect go-to place for lunch. I go here for lunch with my co-workers about once a week. Its pretty small and sometimes service can occasionally be an issue. But the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Outside and inside dining.

Great gyros!. This place has the best gyros in town! I love it!

I absolutely loooove their hummus with pitas. They make their hummus fresh right in the restaurant, and it is delicious. Very authentic

We often pass through the pretty community of Montgomery on our way to and from Breadsmith's but until recently we hadn't actually spent any time in the city's downtown Heritage District. Ther
