This place is a hidden gem! I have cravings for their food often and it is always consistently delicious. Great hummus, chicken kebabs, the roasted cauliflower is so good! The portions re very generous and the service is great too- fast and very pleasant!
As a first-time diner at Ali Baba, I chose the steak platter for lunch. The platters include an apparently unlimited choice of fresh vegetables, sauces and feta, as well as pita bread. The steak was deliciously seasoned with marinade and served hot, but some of the chunks were a bit rubbery and too tough to chew. Unfortunately, cold air wafting down from vents in the dining area quickly chilled both the dinner and the diner.
Service was much warmer. I may go to Ali Baba, but only for carry-out.
Stopped in for take out. I haven’t been in a while because we no longer live around the corner, but I was in the neighborhood and I’m glad I came here for lunch. Their lamb beef mix is perfectly seasoned and their portions are huge. I ordered the gyro platter, which always serves as two separate meals for me. Comes with a great salad and the pita on the side, with hummas. Everything is fresh and delicious and goes together really well. The price isn’t bad either, since I can stretch it to two meals, around $9. I also appreciate that they add in additional tzatziki sauce without having to ask. Awesome lunch spot.
My wife and I have been searching for our go to Mediterranean spot since moving back to Cincinnati a few years ago. After our first visit to Ali Baby Mediterranean Grill I think we have found our place. This small restaurant is somewhat hidden in a strip of stores along Red Bank Expressway. Orders are placed at the counter and toppings can be requested as plates are put together. The menu is straightforward and features gyro, chicken, steak, or falafel served as either sandwiches in a pita or on a platter. A handful of Mediterranean appetizers are also available. We choose the hummus and pita ($5), which is plenty for four people. The hummus itself was some of the best around.
Having spent time in the Middle East, I am thankful for this place. They make things to order and it is authentic and good!
They are changing their name and doing some renovation. Also, it seems the prices have gone up just a little while streamlining their menu a tad too.
This place is a hidden gem!
Very Tasty Food. I've eaten at Ali Baba's a total of about 7 times and will continue to go there. The food is fresh and delicious and much of it is on display so that you see what you're eating. Everything looks so healthy. I've eaten only their sandwiches, which are not small, btw. The service is attentive and the place is clean and cosy. I think it's cool that they run Middle-Eastern music videos. It definitely gives the atmosphere a nice little dose of culture. My only negative experience was just recently, when the meat for my gyro did not taste freshly sliced. The sandwich was good; it just could have been better. But I'll return because the food is, to me, addictive! It's great having a local Mediterranean restaurant! And I love supporting Mom-n-Pop businesses.
What's good is the FOOD, ignore the decor ignore the setting even ignore the order system, what's good is the food. Meat are tasty and not too chewy, gyro's meat are soft as well. Not recommende if you are takeing a girl for a date.
The recommended plate is steak skewer entree or mix meat gyro.
It got considerable amount of protein and with pita bread you got your carb covered. You can put good amount of salad when they plate your food so veggie is covered too.
Big man will need to eat two order of skewer entree plater or three gyro. Which brings the cost about $20~$30
Overall just come over for the food after training than you won't have any issues with it.
Big Man
Terrific food. Absolutely the best Mediterranean food in the tri-county area. I'm addicted and need a fix once a week. It seemed a little chaotic when they first opened, but the renovations have helped and they have their act together on getting the service together faster.
Pretty good. Only been once, but i will likely go back. The workers there were nice. The food tasted hot and fresh. You get to see and select the ingredients you want on your sandwich or platter. Kind of like Chipotle, look and pick. The meats were tender and nicely seasoned and the veggies and hummus tasted fresh and good. Prices were reasonable. We had a complete meal with drinks and falafel appetizer for around 23 dollars, and you don't need to tip a server, cause they don't have them, beautiful. It is good food for cheap and no frills. Maybe not a date restaurant, but if your hungry its perfect. they also have a good napolean dessert, I highly recommend this place.
Awesome food for a great price. If you are looking for some good, cheap Mediterranean food this is the place to go. The falafel is is some of the best I've ever had. The employees were quite welcoming and let me try a sample of the dessert, which I will be sure to get next time.
We ordered our food online so it's easy and straightforward. We got the gyro, fries and falafel. Gyro was very meaty, they do not skimp at all which is how it should be! Fries are some of my favorite fries I've ever had, very crispy yet soft in the middle, great flavor. And the falafel was straight flavor bombs, seasoned perfectly and crisp to perfection. Taziki is essential too. Great meal and will now be our go-to when we want gyros since it's close to us!
The service was great as soon as you walk in the door you can smell the food being prepphobia Pratt the aroma of the food just take over the whole entire fill your body like you can't wait to try their food I will give it a 10 my next experience will be something that I haven't tried on there menu so far what I did get was a tilapia sandwich and a chicken
Loved our lunch here this week! Large, delicious gyro; AMAZING falafel; even the kid options (french fries and hot dogs) were a notch above. Service was quick, friendly, and engaged. Atmosphere is sort of hole-in-the-wall diner (nice and simple).
We'll definitely be back!
Excellent food and service. Clean facility. Everything is fresh and prepared with care. As a former food service worker, I recognize a well run restaurant. This place is efficient, and top notch quality. And fair prices.
Yummy food that I would like to eat again! Hummus was slightly thinner/waterier texture and tzatziki is like thin yogurt with minimal cucumbers. The pita and meat selections all tasted very flavorful. However, the biggest flaw was the amount of food for the price. I wish that aspect could be more reasonable. Staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming!
The Owner is always present... And the service and food is always spot on. The Best Gyros and Falafel around. Try the Humus and Pita. The Pita bread is super fresh and delicious. Humus is delicious. House Made. The grape leaves are also good. Friendly atmosphere.
Gyro plate was very refreshing. Generous portions. The only downside for me is that there is no rice offered in any of the dishes.
excellent food but ordered at 7:03 in website, system confirmed at 7:15, arrived at 7:40 given estimated wait of 15-25 and the food had not been started.
The food was pretty good, no complaints. I learned I was not a fan of baba ghanoush. The gyros were quite tasty, and the baklava was amazing.
My falafel was outstanding, one of the best I've eaten in a long time. For those who miss the Skyline Chili place that use to be right next door, it appears that Ali Baba has taken them up and placed them on their menu. Seems a bit curious for a Mediterranean restaurant, but I'm sure Cincinnati chili lovers appreciate it!
