When we saw the outside, strip mall atmosphere, we didn't expect much. Pub grub, fuel for our trip.
We were so wrong! This food was Amazing! I will just list all the foods we tried that were Way Beyond Expectations.
Pretzel sticks, corn nuggets, goetta fries, chicken cordon bleu mac&cheese, blue cheeseburger, grilled chicken sandwich, regular fries, hot dog. I want to go back and try more. Awesome beer selection, if you like beer, and we do.

Friendly sports bar with a wide selection of craft and major brewer beers. The place was packed Saturday evening and service was a little slow, but having a drink and good company’s made this acceptable. Very interest sandwich names. Food was tasty, standard tavern fare served on cardboard plates.

We came in without knowing what to expect. The food was great, the service was good, the atmosphere was comfortable. Far better than we had expected. The burger was a perfect medium rare to medium, the fries were crispy and hot, the mac and cheese was tasty hot and melty. A great meal from a place that we had never heard of before burger week. We will be back

Excellent service, the best pretzels and great Mac'n cheese options. We had Cajun Mac'n Cheese, Goetta Mac'n cheese and Lobster Mac'n cheese - only reason for 4 stars is the Lobster Mac'n cheese didn't taste like lobster (was very fishy). They took care of it in the end offering a gift card and took it off the check. Stellar service.

This is an exceptional place to meet up witu a friend, find with your family or just chill by yourself with a beer. I have been three separate occasion and still find a delightful. The starters are wonderful especially the Buffalo Bites with the creamy Cajun queso. The Fries have to be shared, especially the goetta fries that they pile up into a small mound with cheese. The real selling point, beyond a visible board of all the beer choices and the amazing staff, is the Mac. A unique choice, this time the awesome Who Dey Mac, is offered each time I stroll through alongside of the favorites like voodoo chicken, Philly cheese and traditional tavern Mac. Its so gooey and good, piled into a delightful bowl till it towers over then coveted with melted cheese that creates a perfect cover for the ingredients inside. Overall, this place offers quick seating with choose it yourself, friendly staff, delicious food options, beer that keeps flowing and a genuinely nice spot that keeps you excited to come back everytime you feel the need for cheesey Mac goodness.
Job well done and I'll continue to come through.

This was my first time there and I had the Mac and cheese with goetta. It was very good and definitely filling. The leftovers were my lunch for the next day. Service was very good. It is a bar type atmosphere. We got there at 4 pm when they opened on a weeknight, so they weren't busy yet. I would recommend them. They had a nice menu, also offering different sandwiches and burgers.

#cincinnatburgerweek ended my week with this lovely place on the Westside. Great food, service and ambience.

My daughters burger and mac and cheese looked good, but the lobster mac was a disappointment for the price. Only lump imitation and nothing else. Very bland for the price. Next day warmed up and added tomato and bacon to it, would buy for that price if their dish included that. Otherwuse, not worh the price.

Last night we went to Tavern in the Bend after a comedy show. My fiancé got his burger while I got a bowl of chili and French fries. I had some dental stuff done a couple days ago and have been pretty sore so eating hasn’t been super enjoyable. I tried to eat the fries and chili but my mouth was starting to hurt. I guess the guy behind the bar noticed and was super concerned I didn’t like my food. The food was delicious as always. Even though I told him everything was fine, they removed the chili from our bill. This was very sweet and shows superior customer service. Thank you for caring about your customers satisfaction. It was unnecessary but we appreciated it.

The sandwiches are named for different celebrities, famous characters and big personalities. And indeed, the food here has a lot of personality. This spot is a safe local place to grab a bite to eat and some company.

All around cool place. Good burgers and Mac & Cheese. Excellent draft beer selection including local craft beers. Cozy, warm "Pub" atmosphere. Great place for a family dinner or to meet up with friends to watch the game. Enjoy!

Just had dinner with my wife. We've been coming to Tavern on the Bend for a few years now. Initially we were rather impressed, but in past year we've seen quite the decline in food and service quality. Tonight's dinner was a tasteless and cheeseless shrimp and garlic mac for me and a rare, no make that a raw, burger for my wife (pooling bovine blood on plate). Not much offered or done about the complaint except a quick nuking of my wife's burger to a medium temperature. Oh did I mention she ordered it medium well with no pink please.

The husband and I were craving some fries (do you see a pattern in our lives?) on a Saturday night and wanted something different close by. After serious deliberation, we ended up at Tavern on the Bend. Kind of reminds me of Keystone Bar and Grill – burgers and mac’n’cheeses. Hey, I like the simple, remember? I would enjoy just a few more appetizers choices. We have been there a couple of times before so we knew what we were in for.

Exceptionally poor quality of service. We had a table at Tavern on the Bend on evening of 2/26/2015 and must say that the service was absolutely terrible. The majority of the servers all stand in front of the kitchen window and play with their smart phones or converse with other servers. They were very unprofessional and when you finally got their attention they were extremely surly and rude. I'm not sure if there was a manager on duty as there was clearly no management on this particular night. It's really a shame as the quality of food is decent and they had a good duo singing.

Best Burgers. I tried this place over a year ago and loved the Breakfast burger. Now it is a regular meeting place for me & my friends. They have a good beer selection and I really like that they have vegetarian options since I have some friends who don't eat meat. One of my favorite places!!

Great Mac n Cheese, great burgers, nice beer selection, and a good neighborhood bar atmosphere.

Menu. I wanted to look at your menu before we visited the restaurant, but could never bring it up on the computer. Bad business

I have attended this place twice in one week for the first time. On the first day the food was good and waitress was friendly. On the second day we had a different waitress and she came off very rude and snappy. We did not stay long even though I really wanted to since there veggie pizza was great! But for food rating I would give it a 4*star, for customer service and friendliness 2*star and overall cleanliness 4* star

Westside Gem. My hubbin and I have been there twice. Both times the service was fine. Server chick was not especially friendly but thats alright with Nay! I'm not there to make friends, I'm there to eat! Hubs loves their variety of pimped-out Mac & cheese options. I could eat their pretzel sticks every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mind you, I am not a huge lover of bread or pretzels normally, but these things are AMAZING. Not sure why so many people are whining about the plastic utensils and disposable plates. Doesn't bother me the least bit. I actually think it adds a bit of character to the place. What is most important is that the beer comes in a glass and the food is tasty.

Great beer selection, good burgers. We go to Tavern often. The main attraction for us is the beer selection. The menu is limited. Basically burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, Mac and cheese. I really like the burgers. Fries are nothing special but the cheese sauce is wonderful. Staff has always been friendly and we get good service. I didn't love the paper plates but the owner explained how it really saves them money and they also own crossroads wings, same paper only philosophy, so if it helps keep prices in control, I'm all for it. I see some people complain on their reviews about not wanting to give a credit card to run a tab, but in my experience that is normal for a bar. I prefer that they swipe it and give it back instead of holding it as many other bars do.

Bad service. We went to the Tavern last night after writing it off last December. The menu has improved alot. However, the service is terrible. Our waitress did not bring our mac n cheese before our dinner, in fact it wasn't brought at all. It was sitting at the window where the food is placed. My husband wanted another beer but our waitress thought talking to her co-workers was more important. The owner of this restartant owned Geoffries at one time.,. The service there was terrible as well. Crossroads has terrible service too. Perhaps the owner does not treat his staff too well, they all look unhappy to be there.<br/>Also, lower the draft beer prices. You are way too high. Needless to say, despite the improved menu, we will not be back.

Excellent Food/Slow Service. Everything we've had here is great. We can get past the plastic utensils and paper plates that other reviews have gripped about because the food has been great every time. Our only complaint is that the staff always seems too busy to stand around and chat instead of being prompt. The last time we had to continue grabbing other servers to track ours down for everything from the order to the check. Increase the service and I'd give it a 5 star review. Right now, they get a 3 star, because, lets face it, service is a big deal.

Awesome food! The outside looks nothing like the inside does. Great service and awesome macaroni!

What a BURGER! My first time to Tavern on the Bend and I was almost 100% satisfied. The Chuck Norris burger was fantastic and my wife loved her burger as well. The atmosphere is very nice with sports on each wall. However the service was terrible and it may have been just our waitress but either way it was bad. Very lazy service a lot of workers socializing with each other instead of the guests. I waited 15 min for a refill and then had to ask for it as our waitress passed by. We sat with empty plates for 10 min atleast before my wife finally had to ask another passing waitress for our check. All in all the food and atmosphere will bring us back to the bend I just hope we get a different waitress.

The Lobster Mac is heavenly, and Monday night is half price mac and cheese night! Excellent service, clean and cozy atmosphere. I will definitely be back - soon!

Hmmmm - mixed. Just had Sunday dinner at Tavern on the Bend w/mom and dad. Tavern burger was delicious but the fries were cold, hard, and tastless. Dad's "bowl" of chili came in a small paper cup size bowl; NOT a bowl of chili. Mom's Tavern salad was so-so. VERY disappointed that food is served on paper plates. Not sure if I will try this place again for the Mac N Cheese. Good selection of beers, though.

Was not worth the money. Decided to try this place after reading about it. It's a great place to go to for a drink and getting together with friends and family. I tried the bowl or chili and it was greasy and left a bad after taste. It was very soupy and very little meat. I had the 007 burger and my wife had the westsider. The meat didn't have an flavor and the grease made the bun soft and wet. The fries were decent at first but further down they became very greasy probably from the hamburger. I guess the grease makes you want to buy more beer. I will not be going back to this place because it wasn't worth the amount of money that I paid for the small amount of not so tasty food that we received (did not buy any beers).

Incredible!. A large group of friends and I celebrate the birthdays of the month by going out to eat somewhere. Whomever has a birthday during a particular month chooses the date and the place and anyone who can come does so. Unfortunately, the date chosen for February was the night that my husband, my mother and myself had tickets to attend the Covedale theatre. So, I was unable to join my friends. Since the three of us generally go out to eat prior to the performance anyway, I decided that it would be nice to at least go to the same place as my friends even if we would not be sitting with them. I was told that they were meeting at Tavern on the Bend in Monfort Heights. We had never been to this establishment, nor had we even heard of it, and, when I looked it up on line, I was a little concerned due to some of the reviews. Anyway, I decided it was worth a try. Wow! Were we ever surprised!! Not only is the atmosphere charming, the decor tasteful and comfortable and the staff warm and friendly, but the burger and fries were the best any of us had ever tasted. They were truly incredible. Not only was the meat juicy, tender and delicious, but it was seasoned to perfection. Even the bun was fantastic. We had arrived a little later and some of my friends had already ordered so they suggested that we also try the mac and cheese. Not only do I not like mac and cheese, but I would absolutely never order it out. Once again, however, I was amazingly surprised. It was fabulous! My mother and I split the burger, fries and the mac and cheese and it was more than enough food. Two days later we were still talking about it and I could no longer resist, so when my husband inquired as to what I was thinking about for dinner, I suggested that he pick up an order to go from Tavern on the Bend! Seriously, that's what I really wanted -- even though it is a 25 minute drive for us. Needless to say, he ran some errands and came home with my surprise!!! It was just as incredible the second time -- despite being somewhat cold. Anyway, I can't say enough about this place. Yes, as some fellow reviewers noted, the food is served on paper plates with plastic utencils -- something I'm not a big fan of; but I would agree that the quality of the food and service more than compensates for it. I would stronly recommend that everyone frequent the Tavern on the Bend !! It made a red meat lover out of me.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Service!. WHO LOVES A GOOD BURGER AND DELICIOUS MAC-N-CHEESE? <br/><br/>This girl does! My husband and I have been in a few times and we love it. What some call 'limited' in regards to the menu, we like to call FOCUSED. Have you ever been to a restaurant that offered a variety of menu items and didn't serve any of them well? WellTavern on the Bend is not one of them.<br/><br/>The menu consists of a variety of burgers, mac-n-cheese, salads, chili and they recently added Hanky Panks (one of my husband's favorites) as an appetizer. Their burgers are big and juicy and are served with a side of fries or onion straws. We have had the Chuck Norris, Black and Blue, and Westside burgers. All were delicious and filling. The macaroni is oven baked and oh-so creamy. We have ordered the Lobster Mac and the Philly Mac. Both were very good! Yes, it was all served on disposable plates and bowls. I'd rather have a great burger on a paper plate, than a just 'ok' burger on china.<br/><br/>They have a great selection of draft beer and the service was quick and friendly. I didn't notice any hiccups in the handheld ordering device. We actually thought it was pretty cool. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. More of a restaurant/bar feel than bar/restaurant. Love that they are using a music service similar to Muzak.<br/><br/>We will most certainly be back!

About this restarant (my view). For the individual who said for them to get some silverware and or plates...!!!! I love the food I ordered the B&B Burger and it was fantastic. Three of us stopped in on Tues night and all got burgers they were cooked to order juicy and quite large. we got a bowl of Tavern Mac & Cheese to split and sample and it was delicious. The place inside is very nice rich dark wood bar nice stools and bench booths etc. I feel like the plates and silverware are fine they are recyclable (Duha) insted of wasting water and other things this restrauant decided to do something good for the environment. Yes I like the idea as well that you can sub chicken or veggie for your burger it gives people a choice. Also they have several very good and interesting beers on tap. So for an individual who has an open mind and likes burgers a change in beer and good mac & cheese this place is for you. Service was great we will return..

Great place, needs silverware. Nicely done, great burgers, good selections of beer, mac is delicious, service is good. Would really be an improvement if they used real silverware, not the plastic stuff as if it was McDonalds.

Nice place!. We ate there Saturday and were really impressed. I had a burger and my wife had the lobster mac and cheese and both were delicious! Great draft beer selection and great atmosphere! We'll be back.

Please buy some china and silverware!. I stopped in the Tavern on Sunday for a beer and decided to stop back for some food. The menu is limited, consisting of burgers, salads and mac-n-cheese. Why is mac-n-cheese considered an entree lately? I do like how the beef can be substituted with a grilled chicken breast or veggie burger on any "burger" order. That is cool. <br/><br/>What is not cool is how everything on the menu is served in disposable plastic bowls or plates with plastic utensils. LAME! Even Steak n Shake, Skyline, and LaRosa's have real plates and silverware. It's the tackiest thing I've seen in a restaurant lately. <br/><br/>Another gripe is that I ordered a beer when I sat down and was asked to swipe a credit card or pay cash even after I said I was ordering food. That is weird and the guy next to me thought so too. He inquired as to why and the manager said because that is the way the system is set up. Okay, so change the system. What I wound up with was cash-as-I-go for beer and a separate food tab without swiping a card. It makes no sense. <br/><br/>As for the food it was okay. I ordered the tavern burger with grilled onions. The only reusable thing I saw was the huge steak knife stabbed into the burger, I guess to cut it in half with. It seemed like overkill since my burger wasn't huge enough to necessitate cutting. It was juicy and tasted good. The fries were a bit undercooked and too soggy for my taste. <br/><br/>The service is good and they have a ton of people working there. Certainly enough to wash dishes when they get some.

Pleasantly surprised for the most part. I had seen that there would be a new joint in this strip mall space that has failed miserably each time. <br/>I walked in the door on Saturday night, their 2nd night open for serving food. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice, brand new, rectangular bar in the middle of the main area. My wife and I were confused since it is a restaurant/bar - do we seat ourselves or wait for a hostess?? There was an area at the entrance that looked like it was used for a hostess, but no signage or employees to notice our confusion. We walked around the place to find very few empty spots. Got a hold of a server and they said just to seat yourself. We found a nice booth in the back of the restaurant in what looked to be more of a dining area.<br/>A server quickly came over to our table to get an order from us. We quickly looked at the menu and ordered a few drinks. Now, this is where I was impressed. For a bar in the White Oak area, it is extremely difficult to find beers on draft aside from Bud, Miller, Coors, Blue Moon, and Sam Adams. They have about 20 different taps, and I'd say 15 of them are quality. There are no prices on the menu (pet peeve of mine), but was surprised at the end of the night that a 22 oz craft beer was between $5 and $6.<br/>Their food menu is limited. Burgers, Mac & Cheese, and Salads. However, it was a good thing to find that they are going to be focusing their efforts on particular items. We split a Chuck Norris burger (jalapeno bacon, pepper jack, house special sauce, etc) and their 6 cheese Tavern Mac. <br/>The food was good. You can't order a burger cooked to anything besides Medium Well, but the waiter assured me that they are not frozen patties. It was also reasonably priced. $30 for a burger/fries, mac, draft cider and 2 draft beers.<br/><br/>My main problem with this place is their order taking system. They pull out an i-Pod Touch and have to input your order with that. It takes much longer than to just write it down, and there didn't seem to be an option for "sauce on the side."<br/>We will definitely go back though. Hopefully this new i-pod touch thing goes away and I hope they keep the jukebox off and stick to a predetermined music mix.
