Review El Coyote - Cincinnati

A solid 4 from this first-time diner. My wife had been there plenty of times before we met but hadn’t been back since our marriage. She was concerned that it wouldn’t be her old favorite but she wasn’t disappointed and neither was I. I was thinking “Mexican” before I arrived but I was surprised to see steaks and pork chops front and center. There were definite threads of Mexican but a little more “Tex” than. “Mex” from my perspective. I ordered a ribeye and a Caesar salad and my wife ordered a pork chop with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. Both meals came with onion straws which were a welcome addition to our plates. Her pork chop was nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. One of the best chops I’ve ever had. She loved the mashed which had plenty of butter and the perfect amount of salt. I like a thicker mash but it was definitely tasty. The pasta in her mac was over-cooked for my liking and tasted like a Velveeto and rotel-based sauce which was ok but I expected a little more. My ribeye was perfectly seasoned and properly cooked - no complaints. The Caesar salad had a good anchovy kiss to it and the banana pudding we took home for dessert got two thumbs down from my wife and I because of the heavy imitation banana flavoring (the whipped cream broke as well - try their carrot cake instead). Service was great too. All in all an experience worth repeating again.

I have been going to this restaurant for 30+ years. These days, the prices are just crazy. I know they are crazy everywhere, but EC is leading the way. 2 Chimmies, 2 mashed potatoes, and a drink will set you back $40.00 these days. Oh, you must try the mashed potatoes. They are known for them for a reason. The service on our last visit was great. The food was especially good as well. The $120.00 for my party of three hurt just a little bit less because it was a good experience. If it's been a while since you have been in to see them... They have expanded and upgraded the patio. It's very nice, covered, and has fans and heaters. If you like Tex Mex go check them out!

Fun place to visit. Great margaritas. Salsa was great.. fresh. Food was plentiful but just ok flavor. Would rather have less food but more quality. Pork chops a little dry. Fun atmosphere at the bar

My family comes here to get a guaranteed 5-star meal every time. Never disappoints! Raleigh provided wonderful service and was very attentive of our needs. Everything came out quickly and perfectly. We had a great time!

Used to always get steak. But the pork chops can not be topped. Get the double order and enjoy.

Raleigh was an excellent server. Polite,trained professional.All of our food was fantastic. The empanadas and seafood chimichanga are delicious.I always struggle with my choices there. The pork chops are some of the best I've ever had.

TexMex menu was fairly pricey, but we knew that going. Burger was so-so, tasty, but nothing extraordinary. Fish sandwich (cod) was standard. Service was awesome.

My boyfriend and I went here on date night which happened to be the first big snowstorm it was very cozy being able to watch the snowfall out the windows and sitting by the fire. The decor is adorable I loved it. The food was very good and their margaritas were some of the best. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating, she was an older lady with short hair and glasses she had been working there for a very long time 20 years I believe I over heard. She was a doll and really made our night out great. It was a little pricey but we used a gift card but definitely will only go back on special occasions.

We had great food and service at our visit to El Coyote. We'd heard about it for a while from lots of different people, and finally made it on a late Sunday afternoon. We asked to be seated on the patio, which was open and quite pleasant. Our server Desirae was very sweet and efficient. She said she had not seen any bees yet, but left us a little device to help get rid of them if we saw them. So make a note if you want to eat on the patio at certain times of the year. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, and ordered queso to go with. The salsa is pretty spicy. I liked it but my tablemate did not like it so fiery. The wedge salad had a disproportionate amount of dressing, almost more dressing than lettuce wedge. The glazed pork chop was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We chose onion straws, crisp and tasty, and southwest mac n cheese, creamy with regular pasta, as sides. We also ordered the sour cream enchilada with chicken, and southwest rice and refried beans. I love these beans. Thick whole pinto beans in a rich and thick gravy. Very, very good. We were too full to order dessert, but the entries looked tempting and appropriately decadent. The portions for everything were huge, and it seemed like we took home almost as much as we ate. They have Coke products and a full bar. Parking is on a hill so be mindful. El Coyote is great.

Thought the food was just average tonight. I have had better food during prior visits. Overall still a favorite of ours.

Best food hands down, well worth the price I don't mind to pay for good food and absolutely excellent service. The waitress recommended the New York strip I have to say it was a very good recommendation. My dad got lamb chops and the pork chop both by far the best we've ever had and the mushrooms out of this world I must try!

Big fan of this place in Anderson! Great steaks and really good Mexican too! Excellent service and nice drink selection! Nice patio addition as well!

There last night, one dinner came out ice cold, when the waiter brought it back, he offered to go and get fresh sides but the rest of us were done eating so we just asked for the check. Disappointing that at this price point a manager doesn't come over, and that one of two things happened a) the kitchen got a free meal or b) they simply threw out the meal we waited 30 minutes for. Prices keep going up and service keeps going down.

El Coyote never disappoints. Great seafood tacos and the best pork chops in the city. The margaritas are supreme. Thank you Denise for the Don Julio Añejo. Great service Denise! LOL! That's between you and me Denise! Had a great night!

We love El Coyote have for years. The New York strip is tender and awesome. I've never had a bad experience with my service. Of course the half and half margarita it's fabulous. All the servers working very hard. I watch because I used to be one years ago and you know what they say serving a server it's a hard thing to do. Food is excellent!!!

The place was empty and we had a group of 10. We were told it would be 2 1\2hr wait REALLY. Thats fine take your 2 top over a 10 top will not come back!!!

We got to El coyotes at 630 and it's 800pm now and still have yet to get our food never again will I come here or recommend it to anyone !!!! And our waitress Liz was not the nicest person. And was more worried about other tables then ours.

Long wait for food. The waitress was not listening to requests, orders were wrong, food items missing. The food was fine though. Probably won't ever go back nor recommend it.

I've always loved their Mexican cuisine of course and their margaritas, pork chops and ribs, but last night tried their sirloin. It was cooked to perfection and the service was wonderful from the hostess to the young man wiping down our table in the bar area to our waiter at dinner. Could not have asked for a better experience.

The bartenders are great - especially Lisa and Kelly..the food and drinks are amazing..only complaint that we had is that it's really hot in there and doesn't feel like the AC is on..fix that and it's a perfect restaurant

I have dinner here for my birthday every year. The filet is awesome and so is their service. The flavor is so good and the meat is so tender. THe onion straws and garlic mash compliment the steak well. Love it all. Of course, I must come back again before my next birthday :)

This is our favorite place to eat. Every birthday and anniversary! The food is great, the home made salsa is awesome, we usually get a pint to go.

Best pork chops ever. Best margaritas. Good service. We are regulars -- especially in the summer on the patio. Atmosphere inside is NOT the reason we come here! It's not elegant dining -- but it is very good food.

Love the restaurant. Food is unbelievable, atmosphere outstanding, great neighbor place to get together. I live in Kentucky now and still go back to Anderson for the food.
