Review Marx Hot Bagels - Cincinnati

What a great place! The bagels and the cream cheese were delicious! We ended up coming back the next day to eat here again! All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. I can’t wait to visit next time I am in town.

I really enjoy their fruit bagels and cream cheese. Blueberry with blueberry. Strawberry with strawberry. There are other kosher menu options I need to try - soups and sandwiches etc.

Good food. Jalapeño cheddar bagel with tunafish. Lettuce,tomato and onion. Wide variety of bagels and toppings.

🥯 As I sat there enjoying my fresh bagel from Marx Bagels, I couldn't help but wonder - what is happening to me?! Will I ever love the food in my hometown again? Maybe not. As a self-proclaimed bagel (and coffee) pro, I can confidently say that Marx Bagels in Cincinnati is a top-notch bagel shop that should not be missed by any locals or travelers. They offer all of the classic varieties - plain, sesame, poppy seed - that any bagel aficionado would expect, but they also have unique options that I've never seen back home. The bagels themselves are simply delicious. They are chewy and dense, with just the right amount of crust on the outside. They are also large! And they give you a ton of shmear as well! I mean a massive amount. If that is not your thing, I am sure they will tone it down for you. Overall, I highly recommend checking out Marx Bagels if you're in Cincinnati. As a bagel (and coffee) pro, I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.

We always look for decent bagels wherever we travel. NYC, Montreal, throughout Europe, we search for and try the local bagels. We’ve been to Cincinnati 100 times and have tried all the other bagel joints. Marx is undoubtedly the best. You are simply not going to get better bagels in Ohio. The olive-horseradish cream cheese is especially delicious. Keep up the good bagel work. Will be back!

Solid menu and great bagels. The Tuna salad was very good. Overall a good experience with friendly staff and a clean shop. Edit: I've found myself back a few times in the past month and it is consistently excellent. After experiencing more of the menu and the consistent experiences, I have bump from a 4 to a 5 star experience. Side note, my son LOVES onion and when he asks for heavy onion he gets exactly what he is looking for on his bagel.

What a hidden gem. Went heat for the first time after driving by it for almost 10 years. I have been missing some of the best, if not, the best bagels in town. There bagels were fresh and their cream cheese options were fantastic. I ordered a Smoked Salmon and cream cheese Everything bagel and it was outstanding. The salmon is already mixed with the home made cream cheese and it was delicious. Definitely making this a place to stop by regularly. Strawberry cream cheese and peanut butter and chocolate chip cream cheese were also great!

The Tuna Melt is awesome!! Very nice staff and very nice restaurant. Large space and very nice lighting. Spotless. Their attention to cleanliness is spot on!!

Just moved back to Cincy after living away for 30+ years. I have been eating these Kosher bagels since I was a little boy. Best fresh bagels in all of Cincinnati in my opinion. Walked away with a baker's dozen! I have even lived in NYC and these bagels beat those.

Under new ownership and major remodel. The place looks great and egg salad on poppy seed bagel is still worth the visit to Blue Ash. The staff is excellent. Good job!

Wow This was one awesome Bagel experience! Where else can you find such a big variety of bagels and spreads! The Tuna Fish salad here is the only tuna I eat, it is soooo good! The owner will sometimes even come and say hi to us, he is a really kind individual. The bagels are always toasted to perfection, and the smoothies are spectacular. Definitely check this place out and thank me later!

Update 6/24/22: have Marx a second try. The owner made it right and comp'd my order, staff was friendlier and my order was perfect! Loved the tomato bagel, chives cream cheese, swiss cheese, egg and veggie sausage sandwich!!! Made this review go from 3 to 5 stars!!! Highly recommend! The cream cheeses are out of this world! Usually the issue is not having enough cream cheese and having too much bagel. But let me tell you that is not the problem here! You get a load of cream cheese. You could probably, easily eat two bagels with the amount of cream cheese you receive for one order and there are like 10 different cream cheeses and 10+ bagel types to choose from. The only issue that could make your experience go from a 5 star experience to a 3 star experience is the staff, particularly just the guy who took our order. He was incredibly rude and if the bagels weren't so great, I would have give a 1 star review based on how he treated us. He was so rude and did not take questions well at all, saying "what do you mean the breakfast sandwich" and then when we gave him what we meant by a breakfast sandwich, bagel, egg, cheese, cream cheese he said "fine" and then gave one of us a breakfast sandwich, and the other he gave us a bagel with cream cheese and in a separate container a flat egg. I wish he was not working out front because otherwise we would have had a 5 star experience. For super bagelman's sake, plese do not have this guy wait on customers any longer

I go here every other week for a bakers dozen of bagels because my family loves them. I’ve come to trust Marx to have a consistently amazing product. Out of the hundreds of bagels i’ve eaten here, there was one I had an issue with- I emailed them at the email address provided on their website and they immediately resolved the issue, providing me with a refund not only for the bagel that had an issue- but the whole dozen I purchased. There aren’t many businesses like this anymore!

If you eat dairy free and enjoy great tasting and high quality cookies and baklava, Marx Hot Bagels is the place for you. My granddaughters and I love these goodies. Stop by and give them a try. I keep mine in the refrigerator and they last all week. Great nightly snack.

No other place I’ll go for a good bagel in Cincinnati. I am the fourth generation to come weekly to Marc’s bagels. My great grandfather is posted on the wall! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bagels are always fresh and wholesome. They even donate hundreds of bagels weekly to deserving organizations. I love Marc’s Bagels!

towers! is a "must stop" every time in in Cincinnati from NYC! The French Toast bagels have no comoetition anywhere! I'm so excited to know that they ship to out of towners!

Great bagels! The assortment of flavors this place has is insane! The banana nut, and strawberry flavors are the best, in my opinion. The best part about this place is they have bagel sandwiches! In my last trip, I got egg and cheese on sourdough, and PB&J on banana nut. Love this place! Note: Personally I would recommend that if you’re gonna get bagels here, I would go early when they’re fresh. The past two times I was there, the bagels were pretty hard by 1pm. Otherwise, this place is amazing!

If you want real NY bagels and don't want to drive to NY, this is the only place in Cincinnati to get some. Take it from the New Yorker, these ARE the real deal!!

Have been going to this place for decades... You can't find a better bagel, or more fun staff, anywhere. When I get a chance to go to Cincinnati, I try hard to swing by and enjoy a big "schmear" on a Bialy bagel. The best!

Not only are the bagels amazing, the staff is awesome!

Bagels are the star! They are wonderful, as always. If you are eating in, the tables could be kept a little cleaner. But we usually get a dozen to go so it is not a big problem. Dayton is supposed to be getting a "real" bagel shop early this summer out of Michigan. If it is as good as Marx's, it will save us a road trip.

Hot bagels is great food. A really good place for friendly service. Only downfall maybe bagelman himself but I like arguing with him. Stop in, try it out you will enjoy it!

Being from the greater NYC area and growing up with fantastic bagels and bialys I can verify Marx bagels and bialys are as good as their NYC area counterparts.

The food is great but I'm tired of being spoken to in a rude manner by the owner. It's not that typical New York deli schtick, he's a nasty rude man. If I didn't know better I'd say he's a racist.

Best bagels in Cincy. The employees are the greatest.
