This is a nice little place for lunch the food was quality was decent. Service counter service and food is delivered on styrofoam plates. Refried beans are really good. Folks that work there were very nice. It appeared to be clean.
Alfonso's is Al-Filling!. Don't judge a book by its cover. This establishment definitely looks like a fast food restaurant from the outside with it's neon lights and drive-thru, and don't get me wrong the food IS fast, but the quality is truly homemade. The dining room is spacious and well lit with plenty of booths, but no tables to accommodate groups larger than 8. The menu is quite extensive, with many choices including breakfast burritos. Everything is quite affordable too, all dishes cost less than $12. They have a 16" Alfonso's Burrito (3 flour tortillas stuffed with steak, refried beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, sour cream, and guacamole) for $9.50! They also have humongous portions of fries, comparable in deliciousness to McDonalds but you get 4x more, for $2. The server recommended Enchiladas, but I couldn't resist the #8 Machaca Plate, shredded beef scrambled eggs served with homemade salsa, homemade guacamole, refried beans, rice, shredded lettuce, and a 13" fresh made flour tortilla! They offer a complimentary salsa bar with traditional salsa, salsa verde, escabeche, smoky salsa, and spicy salsa. My only complaint was my entree was served lukewarm and I really hope it wasn't out of the microwave. Nonetheless, everything was tasty and definitely filling. Regardless, the proof is in the pudding: the drive-thru was non-stop busy the entire time we dined, so this place is definitely popular among the locals.
Some seriously delicious food is made here. Try it out.
