pizza and service at this spot is very good. Great location to meet with friends. Prices are fair.

We've been in the neighborhood for over a dozen years and while there are a few standout pizza joints in the area (Marie's Pizza & Liquors, etc), we keep coming back for the thin crust. Our typical order is either Sausage and Pepperoni, or Sausage and Bacon, and we've yet to be disappointed. I see some complaints from people who clearly didn't order a whole pie (their frozen slices aren't indicative of the quality). Frank has spent a lifetime honing his craft, he knows the exact second the pizza needs to come out of that old-school Fauld's oven to be perfect. Then he'll sprinkle a handful of cornmeal on the marble cutting block and slide the pizza into the box just enough times to ensure enough of it adheres to the bottom of the pie so that it doesn't stick. Dine-in is small, it feels like an old-school soda fountain with the red booths and counter service. Easily the top pizza in the neighborhood.

Frank, the proprietor and chef, has worked in this small place for over 50 years. The results of his life work can be described as one of the very best thin crust pizzas in the Chicago area. Frank and his restaurant are old school. He works hard and has focused on his craft. An excellent pizza is a given. It's a treat to enjoy the work of a lifetime, compliments of an old friend I met half a century ago.

The pizza is amazing. Just the right amount of toppings. The crust is thin and crispy. The Italian sausage is home-made and great. The people are really nice. The interior has an old times feel, but clean. I will return! CAUTION: I'm knocking a star off for the fact that they charge a fee for using a credit card. It seemed to be pretty significant. Bicycling: Elston and Lawrence's both have bicycle lanes. It's very accessible by bicycle. There are old parking meters to lock your bicycle.
