Super authentic Irish pub equipped, very quaint...... sat at the bar while waiting for dinner.... 2 bartenders on duty seemed chatty with their regulars. I kept to myself & drank a couple of their top shelf bourbons but it didnt seem like they knew much about, didnt seem like their clientele's typical spirit of choice.... heavy on the ice when drinking on the rocks and not my ideal style of ice for such a drink but again, for an old school Irish bar vibe My expectations weren't very high ..... was a perfect way to kill time before dinner.

This place is authentic as it gets and the welcome and hospitality are second to none. Drinks are strong and the people are stronger!

This is as close to Dublin as we have found so far. My wife and I visited Chicago and we came across this jewel on the near north side. The bar keep was incredibly friendly and we took part in a sing along with visitors from Dublin. It was the highlight of our visit. I am amazed at how welcome We felt here. I wish we had a neighborhood pub like this where we lived. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a true authentic Irish atmosphere without leprechauns and clovers!

As far as I've found, Celtic Crossings is one of the most traditional Irish Pubs in Chicago. In its Near North location is hard to find a simple, non-pretentious bar, but Celtic Crossings offers that. It offers a no-frills, inexpensive, kind and courteous experience. The last time I was there was a mid-week evening catching up with an old friend. We had a few beers and Jameson shots. After paying the tab, the bartender offered us each another shot, on the house! That kind of customer service will keep me coming back!

John is the quintessential Irish bartender -- even gave me a free Guinness after we chatted about my Scottish last name. The place is a cozy pub with a big fireplace at the front that makes it perfect during the winter.

Spacious Irish bar with a rowdy crowd on Thursday night, though I think it was because of the NFL Draft. Met up with a buddy to have a drink. No idea what he had but I picked up a couple of soco and cokes. The staff is friendly and the wash rooms are clean. Street parking is available and it's close to the L if you need to take a train home because you're too wasted to drive.

What a classic Irish stop for Chi-town. Must try the Guiness here; by far the best! When Celtic Crossing opened they had a Guiness line tester from Ireland come in and tweak the keg lines for an entire week until it was just right.... Now let me tell you... Or better yet you'll have to try yourself. The staff remembers you and are extremely attentive to your needs. Nice and relax setting and maybe you'll get a spot near the fire on those cold Chicago nights.

John is the best bartender around. The music is great when they have it. The selection is not huge but adequate and the atmosphere is authentically Irish Chicago.
