Turkey Chop

i would give it a negative three stars if I could. They didn’t send a single order of fresh cut fries with this food. Every burger had fries ordered with it. The Texas burger has no cheese even though they charge extra for it and that sauce is on the burger when the special instructions say to put it on the side for THE FRIES they didn’t send. I’m so seriously disappointed in this order. $40 and when you call them they blame it on the driver or tell you to call Uber Eats for a refund. First time and last time ordering from here. 😑

For the life of me, I don't know why in the world I never reviewed this restaurant because I bring this man's name up like I'm his Public Relations Manager. Damn near any time someone brings up black businesses or black restaurateurs, I'm blabbing on and on about Quentin Love. I didn't know who he was until I saw an article about him in the Chicago Defender some time between 2007-2008. Then I ended up going to Quench in Bronzeville and fell in love with the vegetarian jerk and vegetarian patty melt sandwich. I was buying it ALL of the time. I was also going in his other restaurant chains in Chatham, along with competing with my parents to hit up his restaurant on 87th Street. (Do you know how good your food has to be for me to walk past Harold's MILD SAUCE FRIES?!) Those restaurants have come and gone, but I was determined to visit any restaurant he had and drove way, way, way out of my way to this one in 2019 to interview him. Although he didn't have any of the vegetarian stuff I was eating before, he had his cooks make a vegan meal for me that was mouth-watering. I was sitting there doing the "good food" dance, reminiscing on restaurants of his past. This restaurant is too far for me to want to go to anymore, and I haven't been in three years. But you would never know it because I'm constantly recommending him to fellow vegans, vegetarians and those who want to support black businesses. I came on this site to find my review to add it to another review site, and was completely confused to not see a review at all. I'll fix that right now. When you first meet him, he may seem a little rough around the edges. But he KNOWS how to pick an absolutely kind and professional staff, and he warms up to you (well, at least me) after a while. I wish he'd open a restaurant closer to me. I'd be there all the time.

If their costumer service is an indication of anything, I probably won't be ordering from here again. Just had to call them to figure out what my GrubHub delivery driver was talking about after he called me saying their "door was closed" and the person I spoke to was extremely unprofessional in his tone. I was informing him I placed the order yesterday because they were closed but that the driver was in front stating that he couldn't get in, and the person on the other line said "Well yeah we were closed yesterday so that's why he can't get in" and had such a condensing tone about him. I clarified that I wasn't asking him about yesterday but about today and trying to figure out what was going on with my order because apparently my GrubHub driver doesn't know how to communicate (that's another story). Nasty costumer service ain't it with me especially when I'm not being rude. Hopefully the food is good - waiting for it to be delivered.

I was so hungry i just started working on the west side. I was so happy to see turkey chop. I ordered turkey wrap and sautéed spinach both items were not edible i had to trash . Disgusting i would never go back. And i would like a refund please they were filled with grease. Ive never seen spinach greasy

I tried the polish and the burger, plus fries, collards, and garlic potatoes. Although good...I think I'll try some of their entrees instead, next time. The polish was more like a hot dog, than a sausage. The burger is handmade, good but the bun didn't really hold up well to all the juices and toppings. Fries were both crunchy and oily. Garlic mash was very good, chunky and creamy with a pleasing amount of garlic. Collards were great, better than a lot of places in Chicago, especially considering that they don't use bacon. If I looked for a reason to complain, it might just be that you can't order their food online. Sure, you can use a third party app, but I don't like those services..I prefer to pay the restaurant directly and pickup or call a service to deliver it directly.
