What a pleasant surprise! Randomly walking down the street we saw many taco places, Allende seemed the most local and authentic. We ordered burritos, tacos and chips w/salsa to go. It was ready quickly and inside the bag was everything we needed including extra salsa.
Taste? Probably one of the best burritos I’ve ever had. I didn’t expect it but it was excellent in taste, texture and portion size.
Don’t let the simple appearance dissuade you, and remember that Oz Park is 3 steps away and makes for great picnics!

The best authentic Mexican food in Chicago. It’s not fancy and if chitchatting with the staff is important to you, you’ll probably be disappointed. However, if your desire is authentic Mexican food in Lincoln Park, this is the place to go.😊

Great Mexican food would simply be an understatement. Authentic with the perfect environment, nothing fancy, but that's exactly what I expect with great Hispanic cuisine. Lastly I would like to say that if you enjoy an hot salsa to top off your tacos go no further because you can get that as well and you just may break a sweat.
