It is always good to have such a good food in such a nice and friendly environment. Well I love Mutton Biryani and chicken platter with dum kabobs lol. Awesome food always.
Good food and great service. Recently had Lahori Fish, daal and Chicken charga. Everything was delicious. Must try!!!!
I can confidently say that this was THE BEST dining place in Chicago. Loved the hospitality, friendly customer service and the delicious foods. The manager was so nice that he even offered us a free dessert and saffron tea ☕️ I would 100% recommend this place, you will definitely love it.
What is not to love about Usmania! This and only 2 other restaurants on all of Devon have stayed true to consistency, quality, quantity and variety! We hadn’t been back here since pre-covid so it was nice to see the beautiful remodel and expansion of the restaurant. They did such a nice job. We booked the last Friday Ramadan Iftar and we were not disappointed. I loved that is was reservation ONLY! One seating for the night and not people coming and going as other restaurants do. The tables had plenty of space between them and already had dates and bottled water ready to break our fast. I also enjoyed hearing the Azaan when it was time. There was more than plenty of good food for everyone including chenna, nihari, biryani, goat karahi, mutton korma, fresh fruits, lassi’s, juices and chai. Plenty of pakoras, samosas and dhai balay! They offered a different menu every night. Our waiter Raffa was very nice about taking our empty plates and keeping our table clean. This place stands the test of time and their buffets are always really good! We were so happy and satisfied with everything. If you want a very large variety of Pakistani foods to choose from that are tastefully done then look no further- this IS and has been THE place for the last 20 years I’ve been coming here!
Staff was great, place was clean, restroom were clean. Food was served hot and fresh, they were late with the naan for us, entree were served long before fresh naan showed up. Street parking only, buffet are for weekend only. They have good pictures in the menu for most of the items but unfortunately for us they were out of a few meat items today.
This was a gem for us when we were on visit to US. Such fine dining Ah ! Absolutely loved tbeir orange chicken, so good !
And other delicious dishes like fried rice , noodles chicken manchuria.
Loved their quantity and quality
Amazing service !
The quantity was more than enough
Perfect place for indian or Pakistani people!
#Halal restaurant
They have delicious Indian food! There’s a lot of choices and the service is really good. Their meats are halal. I recommend you guys to try their food!
Marriages are the most joyful and equally most stressful events in someone’s life. My daughter just got married this past weekend and since it’s a mixed marriage (she’s German-American and her husband is Pakistani) we wanted to make sure all guests are accommodated with halal food. We only had about 50 guests because we wanted to keep the celebration small. We tried out the buffet at Usmania on a weekend before the wedding to see if we can have it catered to the wedding. However, when we saw the beautiful extra seating section when you first come in, we asked if we could have the wedding at the restaurant. They were more than happy to work with us on putting this event together. Not only did they do an outstanding job with the food (spicy for some and not spicy for those who are not familiar with Pakistani food) but the waitstaff and management were always just right there to help or answer questions. Obviously, putting together a mixed celebration like this is quite difficult.
The restaurant helped with the music selection and accommodated us by letting us come in a day ahead of the event to decorate the space. I never felt like I could not get a hold of anyone. I have to honestly say the staff at Usmania was top notch and this comes from someone who attends many events due to my husband’s job. If you are thinking of having a celebration, Usmania is really a wonderful place to have your event. The food is outstanding and it seems they have so many more dishes I have yet to discover. The only drawback is that the restaurant does not allow alcohol due to religious beliefs. This could be a drawback for some but honestly, I didn’t miss the alcohol at my daughter’s celebration.
We went all the way from Michigan after hearing a lot of good feedback about Usmania. Although we have been to Devon St quite a few times before we never ended up trying Usmania. We specifically went for the weekend buffet on sunday and it was one of the best buffet's we have ever had in US. They had a really nice buffet setup. They have a great spread and our favorite was the malai chicken. They also have 2 types of lassi, chai and fruits included in the buffet. There is also a live omelette counter if you desire for one. Some of the dishes like chole, Nihari had a kick to them. The Gulab Jamun could be better as they had a hint of sourness to them. The ambience is also very good. Although the staff who work here needs to get trained in better customer service as they cannot keep cracking jokes, fool around in a language which most of the people who eat there understand. It takes away from the experience of "fine" dining if you hear constant chatter from the staff. They have added a Permanent outdoor seating section. Although it's a little pricey at 19$ excluding Tax but it is still a good value. Will definitely go back and try out their A la-Carte . Once again it's one of the best "Halal" restaurant out there.
Usmania find dining is a superb Pakistani / desi food. Their Chicken tikka boti and drinks are unique. Margaritas, variety of teas and desserts are worth trying.
