The portions are a nice size. I was looking forward to this being great, but this was not the case. I won’t talk about how pricey the meals are especially since this is not a sit down restaurant.
The beans and rice were very salty to the point that you don’t taste the flavor of the food and the plantains were dry and insipid. The curry chicken was also dry. I was really hoping for the best. It might have been an off day, but I won’t be going back. Great customer service. The person who took my order was very nice.

Uncle Joe's is truly the best jerk in the city. We'll seasoned, not a burnt flavor in sight(some of the other places it be burnt on the grill, not good), moist chicken and the best sauce. Worth every minute of waiting.

I enjoy Uncle Joe's sporadically due to the side items inconsistencies taste. Yesterday (4/12/2022), I decided why not for dinner. Whomever did the cabbage and macaroni and cheese prepared it the BEST I ever had at Uncle Joe's. Thank you.
Side note: Customer Service was good. Wait time was more rapid than the usual wait time. The menus have not been updated with the recent price changes.

This is the food they are serving to the community. The first couple of pieces was okay but the rest 🤮
The reason why you see the bones is because I ripped off the meat to show what it looks like under the skin.
I reported this establishment and hope they are held accountable for under cooking chicken.

Uncle Joe's @ 51st st is a great location for authentic jerk chicken and other tasty dishes. I also enjoy their Mac n cheese cabbage and plantain. I usually order chicken dinners but I've also had their shrimp. They have good portions and everything has always been fresh which is the only problem you may have( waiting for your food can be unnerving at times) but it's always worth the wait. Oh and it can be a little expensive $$

Ordered chicken and catfish. The chicken was okay. Just okay. I didn't enjoy the catfish at all. Didn't appear grilled with any jerk rub. Not sure how it was cooked, but it was overcooked and covered in some sort of gravy and veggies. Just was not good. It was a considerable wait just to pick up the food ordered an hour in advance.

My daughter and I went today, trust me when I say it was a long wait. We ordered brown stew chicken, curry chicken, added the steamed cabbage and yams. The food was decent, a little too much sodium for us, but the part that was disappointing was we only got 1 plantain. I was excited for the plantains and all we received was 1. Other than that it was ok

I have bought food from Uncle Joe's periodically over the years and was pretty much satisfied with the different dishes. But this time I and my family were very disappointed with Uncle Joe's food. The food was overcooked and tasted reheated with a heavy use of a overly salty sauce. We could not eat it!
