One year after my first post, I still highly recommend this gem of the Norwood Park neighborhood. The Iron Horse Ale House has an amazing selection of locally made and nationally made microbrews, as well as nationally recognizable beers and spirits. On past visits we ordered the margarita pizza with prosciutto, their soup of the day, and a side salad. The pizza from the Wood-Fired oven was fantastic, crispy and light. For this visit we ordered their chicken wings as well as crab cakes, and a bottle of wine. The chicken wings were excellent and the crab cakes were flavorful and perfectly prepared. I absolutely give 5 stars to the Iron Horse Ale House!

This is my gf and mine second time coming here. Have been happy with the service and drinks. Great beer list three floyds, Surly and Allagash have been on tap the last time too. The pizza and wings are great too. Cody has been are bartender both times and has been awesome with her service also makes great drinks 👍

Came here for the first time on a Thursday evening since we happened to be in the neighborhood. The atmosphere was lively and there was a good amount of patrons having a nice time. Beer selection was decent but could've been more extensive for an "ale house" (which is why I deducted a star). Our waitress was pleasant and polite. This place is known for their pizzas but will opted to have a buffalo wrap and a burger. Food was excellent, definitely the highlight of the evening. My burger was huge but it was so good that I finished it. My wife finished her entire wrap too. Also, prices were very reasonable! Will definitely return next time we're in the area.

This restaurant is our go to place for very good food, excellent service and positive vibe. It is very family friendly. Even my finicky 4 year old likes the kids menu items. They have a great selection of adult beverages too! She loves to sit at the counter near the open pizza oven to play with real pizza dough while watching our pizza being made and baked. If you haven't checked this place out on the far northwest side of Chicago it's a must!

Food is always good, and waitstaff is always very attentive. Great place for families! They have a seating space for kiddos to play with dough, to be fired, and then eaten. My daughter loves it. There's an outdoor eating area also.

Pleasantly surprised. I'm new to the neighborhood, typically prefer hipster bars and dives. Nice big space, food was really great. I tried to be a snob about the food, but couldn't find anything to nit pick about. Kid friendly too. My 3 yo daughter asked for a bunch of random stuff like chicken fingers, orange soda, crayons and ice cream, the waitress didn't even think twice and made it all happen.

Great neighborhood restaurant. Staff is always attentive and courteous. Have eaten there numerous times and have never been disappointed. Extensive liquor selection to choose from. The pizza is outstanding. Great select of comfort food. They also have a patio area seating during the summer. They tic all the boxes!!

Cool settings inside. Pretty big place with outside seating. My second experience here. Food was good. We got a French dip and a Mac N cheese Burger. Good portion sizes Last time we ordered goat cheese appetizer. It was a little misleading. We received a small dollop of goat cheese swimming around in Marinara when we expected a more substantial amount of goat cheese. Other than that... solid joint

Iron Horse is spacious, has outdoor sitting, good lighting and nice servers. The food is very good and they have a sizable beer selection. They offer gluten free pizza and some other gluten free options. There's a brick oven for pizza baking and a bunch of kids sitting by it playing with the pizza dough and talking to the man who makes pizza. Very friendly atmosphere and that's why I love it.

Came here about a year ago. Had a pizza. After reading all of the great reviews, ended up being disappointed. Floppy, soggy crust with the ingredients falling off. This time, my gf and I both had the on special fish fry.
What a difference. Very good beer battered cod. Bartender very good, and the fish was exceptional. Really nice place with outdoor seating in the summer.

The place is really clean and the staff is friendly. The music will have you asking if it's a pandora station or someones well curated spotify playlist. It is in such a nice location in Norwood park. The drinks are good and the food is pretty good, but it can get old if you're a local who tries to keep coming back. There isn't one thing you could say exceptionally well, but everything is just okay. Seeing the bill after a night out with the family can leave something more to be desired. With that being said, it is a very family friendly place. If your child goes up to the pizza counter they can get some dough to play with it. Having a locally owned business is in a reason in itself to go and support.

Cool place. Love the old mechanics shop look with the skylights. Food was great. Did not expect brick oven pizza at a place like this. 4 stars for the small lot and parking on the street. Plenty of street parking though depending on when you go.

The Iron Horse Ale house has 20 draft beers and a good selection of bottles.
The menu contains what you would expect in a bar, but the pizzas have unique ingredients and are baked in an open flame oven. Our waitress was adequate, but sometimes hard to find. The bar area can be quite noisy. Very nice place to stop and have a few, with some nosh available.

Iron Horse never disappoints. They recently updated and expanded their menu and I have never had a bad dish. The staff are always so friendly, it's such a pleasure to visit. Plenty of space for big parties and usually no wait time as a result.

Everything we had was great!! Crab cakes, Korean ribs, calamari for appetizers were delish!! And entrees were pulled pork, burgers, Cesar salads, Iron Horse salad and BLT pizza!! Our drinks took a bit to get but that is the only thing I can complain about!! Will definitely go back and sit outside again ���
