I was a Barton G customer in Miami and was visiting my family in Chicago when I saw it had open another restaurant in River North. Let me tell you it did not disappoint and I was able to surprise and delight my family by making a reservation through open table for Barton G. Forest the bar manager actually was our server and he was phenomenal. We had drinks, and appetizer, amazing entrées, as well as a dessert. And every course surprised and delighted everyone in the party. The food was delicious the drinks were amazing and the experience was memorable.

3x's a charm. Barton G is a family oriented restaurant. All ages & couples will appreciate the presentations. In addition, the food is seasoned to perfection. There are still a few items that's awaiting my critique, so I will return ❤❤

Go for the experience not the food. The ambiance and the unique presentation make it worth at least one visit. The food itself is mediocre at best, food snobs and aficionados would be disappointed. But overall it's a fun and lively place especially on a Saturday night.

Super fun upscale restaurant! They didn't skimp on the alcohol in the drinks, the server had perfect timing and was very knowledgeable on the menu, made great suggestions. We had the sliders which were AMAZING, I had the Miss Thai-Gone which was fried lobster battered in tempura with fried rice, the hubs got the short rib, and for dessert we had strawberry fields which was strawberries and cheesecake bites and a chocolate cake decorated like a strawberry. They put a happy birthday chocolate piece for me cause we were celebrating my birthday. Everything tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly. I will say it was pretty loud in there so if you're looking for someplace that's quiet, that would be the only reason I wouldn't recommend visiting here, though there is seating upstairs that seemed to be a bit more quiet. I'm pretty impressed with how smoothly everything went, since they've only been open for a month. We will definitely be back.

Heard a lot about it but didn't get to check it out till this weekend. It's shocking how awesome this place looks from inside. Had a lunch buffet with numerous offerings. From plain meat side to tacos to seviche, oysters, salmon, and maybe like 10 other items. Then the dessert bar was separate which had plenty to choose from. The food was quite delicious and so was the presentation. Really enjoyed the entire experience. I think the atmosphere is perfect and that will stand out in everyone's mind. Waiting staff was great, I would have another mimosa ready to go as mine was finishing lol Going to go back with a group for dinner service soon too. Parking can be a little problematic if you don't wanna pay for valet, there is street parking ofcourse too. I paid half the price for a garage on spothero a block away. Little on the pricey side but def worth a visit if you want an experience with great food. Give it a try!

We were in Chicago for a week and we went for happy hour and found that the happy hour listed on the website was not the happy hour they were actually having. The one they were telling us was much more limited. The manager did honor the happy hour on the website however, after we showed it to her. Since we are not locals and mostly go on websites when traveling for information it is important to have an updated website. (Reason for 4 stars). They did bring around delicious complimentary sushi samples. The presentations didn’t disappoint- which is why you go to Barton G! We got a couple of drinks, the lobster trap max and cheese and the Caesar salad. All of these are pictured. They didn’t disappoint!

Walked in and noticed, right away, the over the top, fun plate presentations. Place was busy, and the atmosphere was very lively. The props used, definitely contributed to that. Guessing what prop was used for what dish was fun, and added to the experience. We had the tuna tartare for the appetizer, it came on a bed of avocado, and was very good. For the main course, we had the tomahawk steak for two, and it was just enough for the two of us, to leave just enough room for a little dessert. Ordered it medium rare, and came out just right. It was delicious, and the salsa it came with, was even better. Now to the dessert; make sure you leave enough room, because even the portion is over the top. We had the "Dolla Dolla bill, y'all!", It's almost like a big s'more cake that's inside a brick of gold that's made out of chocolate. The waiter used a blow torch to melt the said chocolate over the cake, exposing it. It's a bit expensive, but I recommend coming here at least once, just for the experience. Loved the music they played in the background.

There is no justification for a sub-4 rating. I consider myself a foodie, and went to Barton G with a group of ten people. The presentation is over the top, without question, but it's not a gimmick. We ordered and shared every appetizer, each ordered a dinner, and ordered every dessert, but they were out of the giant ice cream cone. Every appetizer was solid, my ribeye was excellent, and every dessert was phenomenal. The nitro drink presentation is absurdly amazing, and each drink got rave reviews from our group.
