I have always loved Uru Swati's esoteric vibe, vegetarian food, 24/7 Bollywood music videos, and service. Eaten here a hundred times in 15 years. Everything is always delicious and exactly the way I want!

Had a good experience at Uru-Swati. We ordered masala dosa, papdi chaat, and chana bhatura. The chaat was served without chickpeas and potatoes, so we let them know and they promptly made us a new one with everything included. The flavor was on point for all the food, though the bhatura tasted more like a puri and the dosa was not too crispy. Overall I would recommend for inexpensive and tasty Indian food, and good service.

This place was good. I was not impressed with the service, as I received my meal long before anyone else at the table did.
The exterior was clean and nice, but nothing special.
I did enjoy that they brought a pitcher of water to the table. That is something that you don't see to often.
Overall not a bad experience, but I don't think I'll be going back for a second try.

The vegetables are not overcooked, nothing is too oily, everything from the curries to the breads to the East Indian specialties is delicious. Service is very attentive. Bollywood screens show dance numbers on several sides (not loud).

Made a long drive to try, it was good! Chaat was a bit lackluster but Undhiyu was pretty nostalgic, Aalo paratha kept it's promise! Pretty great Gujarati food on the other side of the globe, loved the staff!

If you have never tried Indian Street food like Samosa Chaat, Paav bhaaji or Aaloo Paratha. Please visit Uru-Swati. I have been at this place, couple of times now and have absolutely loved their dishes. Also the servers here are very friendly, attentive and respectful and the food they serve, is also decorated very thoughtfully. Cleanliness and Hygiene wise also this restaurant stands out. I would recommend this place without any doubt and would like to say; come out and grab a dosa or a dish of samosa chaat at Uru-Swati.

Uru Swati in Devon-Chicago is a great place to visit for those looking for vegetarian options. It's conveniently located close to Patel Brothers, making it easy to find. The restaurant has a nice ambience and is clean, which adds to the dining experience.
We ordered the biryani, but it wasn't particularly great and would recommend the owners to work on the same. However as we were full and ordered only one dish therefore we plan to visit again in the future to write a more detailed review. Overall Uru Swati is worth checking out for its vegetarian options and pleasant atmosphere.

Excellent Indian food. We had pani puri, idli, vada, veg biryani and malai kofta. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. The idlis were soft and fluffy. The vada was perfect- crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The coconut chutney and sambar were both excellent as well! Our server was kind, and our food arrived quickly. We will definitely come back in the future!

We went to this restaurant recently and really liked the food. It’s a vegetarian restaurant. Excellent customer service and very good variety. Food was very tasty. We tried dahi puri, vada pav, paneer paratha, dosas and chai. It’s on the busy street and parking can be a challenge if you go during the rush hour.

Tried papdi chat, dahi vada, puri bhaji and thandai. Chats and puri were good but disappointed with Thadai. Expected it be creamy with almonds but it was watery milk 😐
