Came after a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Music, a cross between soul and hip hop, was perfection. Red hot tamales were my favorite even after trying a few they were the ones I remembered most and were simple but with incredible flavor. Drinks are tasty, but perhaps a bit on the weak side (intentionally perhaps tho because they were smashed with ice)...the bartender we had was super awesome and unpretentious despite having the best hair in the city and insane style. The inside felt cozier than the patio, but overall ambiance was great.
This place is awesome! The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. From the minute you walk in the door you feel at home. Don’t pass this place up! Pure enjoyment!
The vegan tamales are to die for! They also have a really nice selection of craft cocktails and the space itself has tons of character. We will definitely be frequenting this place!
Thank you Delta for the good vibes!! This H-Town girl and her family were showed sooooo much love. The service was excellent, the DJ was lit we danced the whole night. We went in for lunch and stayed until dinner. Compliments to the evening chef, those shrimp and grits were fire!! I will be back
I ordered the shrimp and grits. OMG...it was the most flavorful grits I've ever had. The shrimp were perfect; not too salty and not a bunch of butter all over. I know this isn't important to a lot of people but THE SHRIMP HAD NO TAIL. That was the icing on the cake, I hate getting a shrimp dish and you're trying to be sexy but you gotta dog a shrimp out the shell. Lol food was amazing, service was amazing.
Went here for a birthday brunch, it was winter and the patio was closed so we had to wait a good 40 minutes for the table. Cozy place, friendly staff and great food. I ordered the red hot vegan tamales and they were fantastic. The biegnets were also amazing and my friends enjoyed their drinks as well. Definitely recommended.
Vegan tamales are so delicious! Happy hour is great. The pitchers are totally worth it and delicious! Would love to return here. The staff is super friendly as my partner forgot his bag they were able to hold it for him until the next day! Would love to return here :)
Generally very good food. The chicken & waffles and bread pudding are wonderful. Service was hit or miss between visits but fine overall. Front room is too loud but if maybe you are looking for that atmosphere. Will come back but mostly due to food qualityz over anything else.
I love this place and the vibe. Dj Such and Such great! Ari the beautiful Bartender wonderful. I didn't eat but my family did and the chicken looked delicious and it was hot and made to order. The fries were hot and delicious. Definitely going back
Absolutely fantastic! Lovely service, great music, amazing vibes. Support Black-owned and Black excellence! Also the animal fries are so good that I got a 2nd order after I finished my first - I've never in my entire life gotten a 2nd order at a restaurant. Amazing! You can tell they truly care about their food and their customers. Also, the plating is lovely and the interior is gorgeous. Definitely glad that the after-party was hosted here for the event I went to!
Great new space with delicious cocktails and some of the best quality tamales I have ever had. Not dry at all and basically melted right in your mouth. Red hot and chicken tamales are my current favorites. The hush puppies are also awesome. Can see this being a regular spot in my rotation.
My husband and I came here on an impromptu late date night. It was about 9/915pm on a Friday Night. The DJ was amazing! Our waiter, Jordan, was an absolute delight! He was personable, knowledgeable, attentive and hilarious. Our food was really good. I had the catfish and my husband had the wings. The real star of the night were the drinks! THEY WERE AMAZING! My husband loved his whiskey sour(s), and the down south peach drink was SPECTACULAR! I look forward to coming back! It was such a great time and is a good place to enjoy late night eats, drinks and vibes.
I visited this place with my Hubby over a year ago. I didn’t remember so suggested it for a “Girls Night”. When I pulled up, I instantly remembered. This experience did NOT disappoint for me! I will remember now. The hushpuppies are great! The Catfish & Grits are wonderful. I added a side of greens with my order. Very tasty! I was told the fried greens tomatoes were good, just cut too thin. No feedback on the Jim Shoe 🤷🏾♀️The Mac & Chz, as well as the Red Beans & Rice were disappointing.
Me and my boyfriend are chicago foodies and we were impressed of how lovely The Delta was. The food was amazing, vibe was great and top notch hospitality! We get a chance to talk with the head chef and he's an amazing hard working guy. Food was out of this word! Try the Kool aid fried pickle! Isabella amazing and made our experience great!
Was looking for another Black-owned restaurant to try and came across this hidden gem. When I think about, I have passed this place by several times not realizing its a restaurant that I needed to try. So, tonight I tried The Delta for the 1st time with some friends and I was thoroughly impressed. From the time we were greeted at the door until we left, service was impeccable and food was excellent. Sometimes it’s hard to find a restaurant that has both good food & drinks and then topped off with great service. My friends and I ordered food like we were having a Thanksgiving feast. Everything we ordered was great including the desert (bread pudding) except for the mac n cheese w/crab. Our waiter David was excellent and the entire staff was so attentive. Also, the Delta Bouquet drink which is served in a vase is a MUST. Please note that it’s a shareable drink.
Southern food done best! We need more spots for good soul food in Chicago. The vibe here in unbeatable. Their red hot tamales and fried shrimp rock! Love that they have vegan fare as well! So festively decorated right now. Try their Elotes drink! It’s interesting!
Our waitress, Isabella, went above and beyond. Great food recommendations straight from the head chef, quick and friendly service. Made our experience. Food was top notch. Blew our expectations away. Will be back!
