BYOB. The sushi is very great quality and awesome presentation. The service was outstanding. Yes the price of the sushi is a little more than some around the area but it is justified IMHO. When you consider you brought your own bottle of sake, it is still less than other places.

My boyfriend and I came here 8 years ago on our first Valentine's Day date and decided to come again this year. The staff are so nice especially our server. We order different rolls of Sushi and both got Miso Soup. The food didn't take long and it was extremely delicious. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant!

The best place for sushi period. Bat has an amazing selection. Our favorites: Ari, sweet baby, veggie wow, V6, and tropical geisha. The best reason to come to Chicago.

Honestly some of the best sushi in Chicago randomly placed in Lincoln Park. Will probably only order sushi from here ever again tbh. Wait staff so well versed on the menu I was very impressed. Check them out, BYOB no corking fee!

Not a big sushi guy, but the time had come to acquiesce to my girlfriend's pleas. The chicken teriyaki was very tasty and went above and beyond any I have sheepishly ordered before at other sushi places. Great sushi restaurant for people who don't like sushi.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful our evening was at Sushi Mon this week. We had reservations and were very grateful that Bat and his staff honored them even though they were extremely busy with online and to-go orders. Our waiter was every attentive and the veggie tempura and rolls were dynamite. This was such a wonderful experience and I know we will be back soon. Thank you!

This is my go to place for sushi... The salmon appetizer, Red Dragon, Tropical Geisha and Evolution rolls are incredible. I'm a repeat customer and have never been disappointed. The quality is great, it is reasonably priced and the service is the best. It is also BYOB.
They recently expanded the dining room area and can accommodate larger parties.

I usually order for pickup and eat sushi perhaps twice a month. I have been going to Sushi Mon since it opened. The owner is a gregarious and friendly man. The sushi is always good. My wife doesn't like sushi but does like their grilled salmon entree. But the salmon she received last night was dried out and tasteless. The only reason I am writing this review is in the hope that Sushi Mon will read it and correct it next time.

My friend and I ordered the yellowtail roll and crazy pressed sushi roll and they were both so tasty! That was my first time trying pressed sushi and I really enjoyed it - the roll has more rice but I love rice so it worked in my favor. The pressed sushi also comes with soup and salad and most rolls are $13/$14 so it's a great deal. BYOB and didn't charge a corkage fee. A+ in my book and will come here again!

My absolute FAVORITE sushi place in the city and beyond. Love this place to death. The staff is fantastic, and the sushi SO big and SO delicious. You get your bang for your buck. Always filling. My two go to meals are the Maki Plate E and the Shrimp Udon Soup. The owner even surprised my now husband and I with a free meal when we went in to celebrate our engagement in 2017! Will be eating here every week for as long as I live in Chicago.

This is our favorite sushi place discovered many years ago. It only keeps improving. Simply the best in Chicago. Many vegetarian options. Not overpriced. BYOB. Great place to celebrate, to spend time with friends and family.

I rarely review places, but this sushi place is exceptional. I've been to over a dozen of the "most highly rated" sushi places in Chicago, and this one wins by a landslide. Freshest fish I've had in the city - similar in quality to those I had at Shiro's (an apprentice of Jiro) Sushi Restaurant in Seattle, and given Sushi Mon is in Chicago, that's a pretty impressive feat. Great portions, reasonable prices, and probably the best kept secret of LP.

One of the best sushi spots in the city hands down. The owner Bat is humble and hard-working and loves to get to know his customers. His sushi and other foods are made with great quality and care. Also once COVID-19 is over, his spot is BYOB, how can you beat that?

I normally reserve judgement on sushi restaurants until after I've visited a few times so I can try some different rolls, but this time I felt compelled to review right away.
It is very obviously a family-run restaurant and I couldn't have felt more comfortable and welcome. The food was good as advertised, but the atmosphere would have me coming back regardless.
Will definitely be back.
