Here’s the thing: took one bite of the philly roll, one bite of the spicy super white tuna roll, and immediately picked up my phone to write this review. This fish is so fresh (the sushi is amazing!) So happy I found this spot

BYOB. The sushi is very great quality and awesome presentation. The service was outstanding. Yes the price of the sushi is a little more than some around the area but it is justified IMHO. When you consider you brought your own bottle of sake, it is still less than other places.

Honestly some of the best sushi in Chicago randomly placed in Lincoln Park. Will probably only order sushi from here ever again tbh. Wait staff so well versed on the menu I was very impressed. Check them out, BYOB no corking fee!

I cannot stress enough how wonderful our evening was at Sushi Mon this week. We had reservations and were very grateful that Bat and his staff honored them even though they were extremely busy with online and to-go orders. Our waiter was every attentive and the veggie tempura and rolls were dynamite. This was such a wonderful experience and I know we will be back soon. Thank you!

One of the best sushi spots in the city hands down. The owner Bat is humble and hard-working and loves to get to know his customers. His sushi and other foods are made with great quality and care. Also once COVID-19 is over, his spot is BYOB, how can you beat that?

My absolute FAVORITE sushi place in the city and beyond. Love this place to death. The staff is fantastic, and the sushi SO big and SO delicious. You get your bang for your buck. Always filling. My two go to meals are the Maki Plate E and the Shrimp Udon Soup. The owner even surprised my now husband and I with a free meal when we went in to celebrate our engagement in 2017! Will be eating here every week for as long as I live in Chicago.

I normally reserve judgement on sushi restaurants until after I've visited a few times so I can try some different rolls, but this time I felt compelled to review right away.
It is very obviously a family-run restaurant and I couldn't have felt more comfortable and welcome. The food was good as advertised, but the atmosphere would have me coming back regardless.
Will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I came here 8 years ago on our first Valentine's Day date and decided to come again this year. The staff are so nice especially our server. We order different rolls of Sushi and both got Miso Soup. The food didn't take long and it was extremely delicious. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant!
