We appreciated that our large group was able to be seated right away without a reservation, and enjoyed the experience of the tabletop grill, everyone had fun.
It was pretty pricey and some of the meat was mostly bone, but the huge variety of sides was great. The surprise hit was the goat soup, so delicious!
If I were to recommend anyone to a great korean restaurant, San Soo Gab Son would be one of my top two.
Unrivaled in terms of banchans, everything tasted so good and the service was really friendly. The charcoal also gave the bbq a great aroma, different from the other picnic gas stoves you normally get.
We went when they were not busy so service wise your miles may vary.
The value you get is phenomenal, the portions were huge. We have a solid second meal packed once we were done.
The wang kalbi was my favorite, also love the soon dubu jjigae.
Cute spot! I normally go to a different place for kbbq, but end up having to wait a long time for a table so I went here and it was great and I was seated immediately. Think it’s a new favorite.
A great Restaurant and with lots of amenities and sweet delicious dishes. Some great drinks as well was served. Beautiful people and nice Korean Restaurant. Ask for Cindy, I highly recommend.
I typically don’t go to restaurants that has 4 stars or lower but my cousin insisted this place is good so we tried.
We ordered few soups , a noodle dish , bibimbap and Mandu for appetizer.
The main course was actually pretty goood, definitely a 5/5.
Side dishes was plentiful but I personally had a lot better. They are the cheaper type of sides and nothing stood out except for the daikon kimchi which was very delicious.
Overall I would give it 5 stars because the main dishes were excellent and the price was excellent as well.
Like most bbq restaurants, be prepared to smell like bbq after eating here.
Delicious Korean BBQ restaurant for my mother’s day dinner. My daughter and son bring me go there to surprise me. All the food that we order are Charcoal grill Fresh beef, verities of dishes are so tasty. I recommend this place for your friends and family to enjoy.
Ah, San Soo Gab San, where the aroma of authentic Korean BBQ wafts through the air like a welcoming hug from a long-lost friend. 🤗🍖 This isn't just another BBQ joint; it's a culinary odyssey! Their secret weapon? Wood burners, my friends. While others play it safe with gas, San Soo Gab San is fanning the flames of tradition. 🔥✨
Let's talk about their Wang Kalbi. Imagine marinated beef short ribs, dancing over wood flames, teasing your senses. Each bite is a harmonious melody of flavors, a symphony in your mouth. 🎶🥩 And the Japchae? A colorful tapestry of vegetables and glass noodles, each strand glistening with the perfect blend of seasoning and joy. 🌈🍜
The service? Oh, it's like being in a Korean drama where you're the star and the waitstaff are your ever-attentive sidekicks. Fast, friendly, and they always seem to know what you need before you do. Like mind readers, but with aprons. 🏃♂️💨👍
Dining here is not just eating; it's an experience. It's like teleporting to Seoul without the jet lag. 🛫🇰🇷 Every visit reminds me of those bustling streets and the daily BBQ feasts, a nostalgic journey for the taste buds.
So, if you're seeking an adventure, a place where every sizzle tells a story, and every bite takes you on a journey, then San Soo Gab San is your culinary compass. 🌟🍽️ Just remember, with great BBQ comes great responsibility - don't forget to share! 🤣👫🍽️ #SanSooGabSanMagic
Having been trying different kbbq around chicago, this one was always the first and unique kbbq in town. Back in the days, this was the go to place with the house marinated beef in rolls. It dropped off the radar after quality went down. The ssgb suburban location was even worse. I'm glad to see it got much better with the meat quality and service after some time. The beef was excellent but the pork belly was cut too thin. The floor was greasy and the new grill exhaust is so big it covers both person sitting across from you. Oh its also wood charcoal which it should be!
When an Asian place gets 3.9 point rating, it’s either really good or really bad. Thank god this place is really good. Very authentic experience. Make sure you get the Bulgogi!
Great Korean BBQ. I've been to many types of restaurants like this and this was the first time charcoals were used. I felt it gave the meat a better taste. The service, quality, and quantity of food was excellent. The ladies there serving me and my wife were great. I would definitely come back again.
