Note there may not be A/C at the time of ur visit. For some that may not be an issue. Great food already. Definitely get the Bass, pork belly porchetta, wagyu beef tartare. The food was top notch. Atmosphere was good and our waitress was very attentive.
Come here for a good meal and cocktails.
The duke is a very interesting cocktail and if you’re adventurous definitely order
Nice to have this gem of a gastropub in the college bar jungle of Wrigley. Their cocktails are unique & fantastic. I love sitting at the bar & having drinks made by Isidro. He is funny, sweet, creative, attentive & skilled at making the cocktail you’re looking for. Love the tartare!
I used to walk past this place all the time before I realized it was its own stand-alone restaurant. Tried it out for the first time this past weekend and had my expectations blown out of the water. The ambiance was upscale, with a vintage baseball theme throughout. The staff was also amazing and recommended great pairings and dishes. They offer vintage cocktails with liquers from the 40's, 50's, etc. and have a great selection to choose from. Our group tried the oysters and bread platter for appetizers, and both were delish. We opted to add the tomato jam with our bread...would recommend trying it. For our main courses we got the mussels and frites, duck pasta, pesto pasta, and their renowned pork pasta (I can't remember the fancy name of the dish but it was offered as a special). Our entire table raved about their dishes, and we all want to make Mordecai's a regular spot for us. Fyi, the wine in the photo was recommended by our waitress, and it was fantastic 👌
I never write reviews. Ever. My second time here I was as blown away as my first, which was months ago. If you love cocktails - like real cocktails - this is your spot. You’ll be extra lucky if Corbin is working at the bar. If you’re thinking of trying a vintage cocktail, do it. Food is great and the experience is well worth it. Also the best escape in Wrigleyville and I’d argue best place to impress a date in that part of town.
I travel around the country and try a lot of different places. This spot - I told stories about it for weeks and I’ll do it again this round. Can’t wait to be back in Chicago so I can drop in again.
Note to self: Corbin works on Tuesday nights and that’s all I know.
My dad and I decided to stop in to Mordecai before a Cubs game for a beer. They don’t have the usual beer and drink selections, but the lager was just the light beer we were hoping for. To eat, we ordered cheese curds which came with an aioli and together they were very good. Definitely a more upscale bar than I would generally stop at before a game, but glad we went. I would go back in the future.
Easily the best cocktail bar in the neighborhood, really knowledgeable bartenders and high quality spirit bases. Surprisingly good values, especially the happy hour drink deals. There are also some amazing exotic drinks if you're looking to spend a little more. I like the flexibility to have a good night on a budget but also the depth to get into some more interesting things if time and budget allows.
I was here for a private event. I love the cozy atmosphere-not typical of the neighborhood. We were pretty packed in but the staff was great. I was acknowledged when I stepped to the bar and served in turn. We didn't have the opportunity to eat but will go back in the future to sample.
Delicious!! Everything we tried. The service was also great. Very cute place, great atmosphere. Vegetarian options. Definitely recommend!
Great spot for cocktails before or after a Wrigley event. Reservations helpful but not required.
I know this is a bold statement, but these were the best fried cheese curds I’ve ever had. The food, drinks, ambience are incredible. Rare find for Wrigleyville.
