Fantastic service, fast turnout, and tasty! Everything was served hot & fresh. The red velvet French toast, cheesy scrambled breakfast sandwich, and chicken & waffles were all equally delicious. The kids menu griddle plate for around $10 was also perfect for a 4 year old.
Would recommend and also visit again, but do note that when it's busy, the ambiance is extremely loud so you'll likely have to yell if you want your partner to actually hear you.
Probably the BEST breakfast eatery I've been to. Excellently fluffy and delectable waffles and crispy flavourful fried chicken. Thick cut bacon cooked perfectly and real maple syrup! I also had red velvet french toast and it was phenomenal! Very friendly and transparent service from Ryan and good prices. I can't recommend Kanela enough. I give it an 11.
Came here for breakfast with the family. Was easily seated outside for a Saturday morning. The server was personable and the food came quickly.
Everything we had was pretty good, did a Cinnamon Roll starter. Had some fresh squeezed Orange juice, oat milk latte, chorizo and eggs, red velvet French toast, chicken and waffles, and a yogurt bowl. Though… for the yogurt bowl there is quite a lot of yogurt to the fruit ratio so know that going in.
This is the third time we’ve ate a breakfast at a Kanela… the other two times in Wicker Park and both food and service has been great :)
Kanela Breakfast Club in Chicago is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable breakfast experience. I eat here regularly, and I'm always impressed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff.
Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious, some of my favorites include the monkey bread, the goat cheese omelette, and the blueberry pancakes. The monkey bread is a must-try - it's a giant cinnamon bun that's served warm and gooey. The goat cheese omelette is light and fluffy, and the blueberry pancakes are packed with fresh blueberries.
In addition to the delicious food, the staff at Kanela Breakfast Club is also top-notch. Seriously the best! They're always friendly and attentive, and they go out of their way to make sure that you have a great experience.

If you're looking for a breakfast spot with generous portion sizes, look no further than Kanela Breakfast Club. My wife, daughter, and I recently visited this charming eatery and were blown away by the quality of the food and the exceptional service.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile from the hostess who promptly seated us. Our server was equally friendly and attentive, making sure our coffee cups were always full and checking in on us frequently to see if we needed anything.
But it was the food that really stole the show. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and served in large, hearty portions. My daughter's eyes lit up when she saw the towering stack of pancakes that was brought to the table, and my wife couldn't believe the size of her omelet. I myself was pleasantly surprised by the heaping plate of biscuits and gravy that I ordered.
But what really impressed us was the quality of the ingredients. From the fresh fruits to the high-quality meats, everything tasted like it was made with care and attention to detail.
All in all, we had an amazing brunch experience at Kanela Breakfast Club. The large portion sizes, exceptional service, and delicious food made for a memorable meal that we won't soon forget. I got Red velvet French toast which was pretty good and my friend got a custom omelet which she really liked. We also had the monkey bread which was delicious!
I had a great meal here. My server, Alexa, was very nice. I had the Chorizo and Eggs which were delicious. The place is cute and clean. Great place to read a book and have breakfast. The only thing that I wasn’t a fan of was how cold it was.
Food was AMAZING!! Our server, Ryan, was so friendly. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming too.
Went for brunch and got a variety! The crafted juice are amazing and highly recommend! Potato pancakes were a big hit. 😁 Found out we're not fans of chia seed pudding, but it was our first time trying that dish so it was probably just personal preference thing. (The coconut on top was good!) Very much enjoyed the goat cheese omelet and Impossible burger!!! (Seriously, the bun and toppings were top notch!) Prices were definitely fair for what we ordered. Staff was fairly friendly and efficient.
