Love this place. Their half roasted chicken with rice, salad and hummus is my favorite. The garlic sauce is great, the falafel is good but not the best.
Their falafel taste like heaven 😍 Kind and generous staff. We got shawarma platter and falafel. Very recommended.
Great experience, got free Falafel for my first visit. Thanks
Falafel Island is my favorite lunch spot! It's a huge plate of delicious food for less than $10 in The Loop--you can't beat that. It's sometimes a little busy, but the line moves fast.
Update as of July 2018: Still five stars. The quality of the food is better than it was, and the new management is
I enjoy having lunch at this place. The food is great and the people working behind the counter are friendly. I have a hard time understanding the servers sometimes but they are nice. The food is great. I like the meat combo, it's only $7.99 and free water :)..What not to like.
If you're looking for delicious tasting Middle-Eastern food, this is the place. Their dishes range from $5 to almost $10. Quantity depends on your appetite. But, I've always been satisfied with the portions and I eat heartily!
Under new management with a quality forward focus falafel island was a delightful surprise for a quick lunch. The kifta sandwich was some of the best I've ever had. Would certainly come back and couldn't recommend more highly this gem in the rough.
You cannot go wrong with the Beef Shawarma Plate, which offers a great portions of meat and rice. Their hot sauce is hot without being overbearing; it gives the food just enough kick. This place usually gets packed during the lunch hours on weekdays but the line moves quickly.
Came in on a slow night, so only one man was making and taking orders. He was extremely nice and helpful. My falafel sandwich was delicious and authentic. Try it out!
Back in 2014-2015 as I was completing my bachelor's degree and working 20+ hours remotely, this was my go-to every day for lunch. The same guys didn't seem to be there when I hopped in for old times' sake, but the food was still good. Looks pretty dead in there on a Sunday.
I've only eaten the veggie combo, but I've eaten it at least a dozen times. Food is always tasty. Really like the salad and falafel. When the falafel is recently cooked, it's some of the best downtown.
Very good food and nice stuffs
I really like their roasted eggplant and cauliflower. Tabulah, Babaganou, Falafels and Lentil soup is pretty good too. The only thing I don't like sometimes is the smell of cigarette smoke that seems to seep into the restaurant sometimes. I typically get my food to go.
