Don Juan's Restaurante

Very nice neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Lots of regulars and a cozy feel, but a little louder and vivacious than similar restaurants as a result. We took in the MSU v Butler college hoops game on the large screen above the bar, and my partner sampled a custom beer on tap that had the slightest hint of lime in the flavoring. The food was delicious, but not exactly distinctive. The chips and spicy mole salsa that they served as we sat down: priceless.

The owner came up to us and asked if we had been there before. We told her it was our first time, and we were heading to Ohio. We told her it was rated high, and that’s why we stopped. Boy, we were not disappointed! The margaritas were perfect, and I am very picky about margaritas, as well as the food. Would definitely go back there. My picky husband actually like the mole’ con pollo!

After frequently dining here, I can say this place is the best Mexican restaurant in the area by far. You'll first notice it when you receive warm, crispy chips and can request several homemade salsa options. (The habanero one is killer!) The margaritas are also very rich and will really knock you on your you-know-what. Friendly staff and owners will ask you how your day/food is and attend to your needs without hesitation. Maria and Marco are a pleasure to deal with! Always fresh and delicious food with a plentiful menu. You can tell the quality of their ingredients is much higher and they don't cut corners like nearby restaurants started doing during these times. It's also squeaky clean inside and the bathroom is very nice. 5/5!
