Lawrence's Fish & Shrimp

Been here a couple times and it is never empty. Went on Sunday and got the lightly breaded shrimp which was wonderful. Good sized shrimp and delicious. My son got some chicken wings. I usually get the cod bites too and I am still kicking myself that I didn't. It's like a 100 mile drive for me. Can anyone tell me why I didn't get the cod bites? Oh yeah, cause I ate a polish sausage at Jim's before I went....duh!

This place is truly a Chicago staple and an iconic place when it comes to late night food. I have been coming here since I was a kid with my parents and now being able to take my kids here is super special. The fish and chips are probably the best bang for your buck on the menu. The shrimp of course is always good but a little pricey compared to the other menu items. My kids favorites are the clam strips. Their hot sauce is unique and full of flavor. I'm surprised that their other locations never did that well.

I just had my first bite RIGHT NOW as I'm writing this: AMAZING!!!!!!! it's my first time here. The two ladies working right now OMG they deserve a RAISE!!!! so friendly with a SMILE on their faces! I think they are the reason the food is so GOOD!! I was so happy just to TALK to them now I'm double happy because of the service! They even signed me up for the REWARDS program! 10 stars for them and the food and the place is beautiful and clean! I am a LIFETIME CUSTOMER as long as the two ladies working here, stay here, I will always be back. Please check who your workers are THEY NEED A RAISE for how amazing they make customers feel. Thank you

Excellent meal. Great deal. Love fried catfish with cornmeal. The shrimp were great. They did take a while on our order because apparently didn't drop the catfish and also means our shrimp was waiting and got a bit cold. Also stood at the counter way too long without being noticed (asking for condiments). Not the best cocktail sauce ever (my opinion). The fries were awesome. Highly recommend. Great option and doesn't break the bank where many spots are very pricey in Chicago/downtown. The store is great. Love the outdoor seating area (though it was too cold the day I went).

My first time here I had high expectations a little to high for the shrimp atleast, they didn't have much flavor although was cooked to perfection. I did only try a few things frog legs lightly breaded shrimp and onion rings and corn fritters! Everything was cooked to perfect temperature not over cooked at all. Slightly under season on everything except the shining dish of them all the corn fritters they were so delicious I wanted more! definitely will Be returning just because I didn't try everything yet!!! plus the customer service was exceptional I had cashier named DON DON. He's super cool and helpful with us picking our choices from menu. 💪🏽 keep up good work just season a little more

Been coming here for 20+yrs! Highly recommended!! Great for late night snack, especially after 2am :) Always always call before showing up unless you have time to kill(always packed w/ customers)! I always call to order, got there no waiting just pay and pick up order and leave :) oyster, shrimp....! Their spice sauce & cocktail sauce are awesome!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere very clean and open space. The service was amazing Don the cashier took time and went over the menu by it being my first time going. The Shrimp was delicious the calamari cooked to perfection, The catfish was not good tasted fishy😁best way I could describe it. SHRIMP ON POINT 😋😍
