This place is awesome! A unique one-of-a-kind sandwich shop, bar and venue space in the heart of Wicker Park. Super friendly staff and great food. Being a musician, I immediately noticed the quality of the sound system in the venue space which is crystal clear. The venue space is open and airy with a second loft with another bar setup and tables. I'm sure that system kick's ass when it comes time to crank up the music and have some fun. I'm going back soon!

The newest and probably the best kept "secret" venue in the whole city. Acoustics sound immaculate, the room is small enough to feel like an intimate show yet large enough to easily dance about. The balcony offers a second vantage point and sounds fantastic up top as well. Security is firm but courteous, bathrooms are cleaner than most venues and well-maintained. Lots of drink options and you get to keep your water bottle cap. I truly hope Chop Shop at 1st Ward starts taking all the bigger name shows from Bottom Lounge as soon as possible. Overall 9 out of 10 as I've only attended two events so far. If the rest go the same way as the first two did then this will be the greatest opening Chicago has seen in a few years. Keep it up and keep booking bigger names too!

Went here to see a show, decided to have dinner here as well. Making a reservation was really easy, and they communicated with us very well. The food was average for what you would expect from a "$$" restaurant on Google maps, the smash burger I ordered was solid but unspectacular, but the fries were really good. Service was also solid but unspectacular - they weren't crazy busy but there did only seem to be one waitress taking care of all the tables upstairs and she probably could've used some help because of all the tables she was responsible for was a lot. No complaints though, just nothing special. The atmosphere was really cool though - the brick interior and the decor really complimented the whole vibe of the place. The concert room is nice and small, giving you a great view of the stage from anywhere in the room, the speakers were in good condition, and you could also clearly see and hear everything from the seats just outside of the little room.

90 minute drive from Wisconsin for dinner and concert. SO worth it! One, the place is beautiful. Trendy and unique. Indoor and outdoor options for dining. Tables and booths. Highly recommend the sweet chili breaded cauliflower to start. Incredibly friendly staff. Kyla, our server was GREAT! Bartenders were fun and friendly. Standing room only in the concert area, but not a bad "seat" in the house. Mezzanine area allowed for great view, standing on the floor anywhere left to right, you cant go wrong. If your fav artist is playing you don't want to miss them at the Chop Shop. Had a great time! I'll definitely be back.

The food is great, the service is good and the outdoor patio is perfect for a warm day during the pandemic. It's was a fun environment on a Saturday night with some good music. I enjoyed the breakfast burger and the santorini salad. They also had some fun drinks for halloween as well.

I used to walk past this place all the time but never went, I was missing out! Chop Shop is a lot roomier than it appears on the outside, it even has a rooftop patio and a large room in the back for events or party rentals. The atmosphere is great, very laid back and also a surprising amount of tvs if trying to catch some of a game. The brunch food was fantastic. The French toast with blueberries and pistachio was so sweet and rich! But I especially liked the sausage sandwich. The biscuit had a perfect crumble to it and bacon baked in. Will have to visit again to try out lunch or dinner options!

We saw a concert here on Cinco De Mayo and were very impressed with the venue. Top to bottom, it felt very well run. The sound was superb and we can't wait to return. *not my photo, photo credit to Stew Bixcube

Went to my first show at Chop Shop in 2019- soon thereafter the World shut down due to Covid. It was beautiful to see The Suffers last night. Excellent sound, lighting and atmosphere.

The food was decent, though priced too high for the quality. The drinks are priced astronomically high, to the point of being laughable. We saw a concert there, that was rumored to be sold out. The room the show was in, is a bit too small for the number of people in attendance. People had to stand in the doorways and in the bar area. The sound there is fine, but with the doors there, you can't see the entertainers. The service was adequate. No issues there.

2nd time the food once again did not disappoint. Family group dinner and all choices were deliciously. Critques - service was a bit lacking and not as frequent, in fact walked over twice to service station to get items that were missing on the plates or on the table. Can't fault servers that much as restaurants are running short staffed to meet the greater demand. When the live band started to play, definitely noisier for having conversations. Still would return for thr food. Need reservations if dining in on a band night.
