Early opening cozy breakfast with lots of Mexican and Hispanic options. Got there right at opening and by time we left things were starting to fill up.
The place is deceptively small as there is a rear dining area with additional seating.
Staff were friendly and prep was very fast. Presentation was good and things were delicious.
Recommend going earlier if you want to be guaranteed a seat!
The food was really good! We ordered a lot. The mexican omelette, waffle, steak and eggs and pancake. It was all really good. The pancake syrup was warm which was a plus. I loved the Hispanic touch to the food and atmosphere. The service was great. Would definitely come back if we are ever in Chicago again.
Food was amazing, great service as well. Chill outdoor area where we could eat with friends dog. 4 of us shared the fruit parfait and a fruit platter for the appetizer, it was great. We had French toast, Chilaquiles, steak and eggs, and a corn meal cake; they were all very good and everyone liked their food. I had the smoked hot chocolate to drink and it tasted very good, no hints of alcohol, and it wasn't too strong even for someone like me who doesn't normally drink.
I had a wonderful experience here. The food was both delicious and visually appealing, with prices that are budget-friendly. The atmosphere added to the overall pleasant experience. I ordered the chef's special granola and was thoroughly delighted. The only reason for giving four stars is the wait time for the food. Nonetheless, it's the perfect spot for a relaxing and laid-back morning.
Breakfast house is iconic! My boyfriend and I love this place for a wide variety of breakfast foods. During our most recent visit, we tried the waffle with fruit, scrambled eggs, and crepes with dulce de leche. So delicious!
Our server was really friendly and efficient. I enjoy their indoor and outdoor seating options.
WOW! A must-visit spot for breakfast/brunch. Best breakfast I’ve had in Chicago in awhile.
We had the Chocolate chip and bacon pancakes, Mexican omelette, chorizo hash, and breakfast burrito.
¡Se hablan español!
We were looking for somewhere with a patio we could take the dogs because we’re visiting so we can’t leave the dogs in the hotel. Looked at this places website for a menu and saw it said pet friendly patio and i was sold.
We sat down outside and we were brought a water bowl for the fur kids and they were even offered a plate of scrambled eggs, though I declined. My dogs are very picky.
Our food was delicious we’re from the southwest so my boyfriend was missing a good breakfast burrito. I really wanted a hash so I got the breakfast house hash. And i wanted something sort of sweet so i also got the sour cream pancakes. We like spicy foods but our food didn’t come with anything spicy so we asked for a salsa. “House Sauce” it’s like a puréed salsa and very flavorful and very good with a little kick. I put it all over my hash.
Service was so friendly I will definitely be coming back here my next visit to Chicago. And if you need a spanish speaker the staff is fluent.
Been coming here for years, lovely owners and breakfast that is a far step above a diner. But they have breakfast classics as well. They have vegan and vegetarian options, even a vegan chorizo! 5 stars!
Outdoor seating was nice and shaded. Service was quick and accommodated Muslim dietary restraints. Servings were large and decent amount of free parking nearby.
The food was very hearty and delicious. A neighborhood staple! I’ll definitely come here again.
