Umm!!! The chicken and veg fried rice we ordered was good but the mutton was a little overcooked and we felt it had more than expected soy. Otherwise good place and would love to visit again.

Simple, clean, and pretty standard food. Pretty good prices and serving size.

We went & had mapo tofu, because Anthony Bourdain was here on his Chicago visit. It was awesome not mouth- fire hot. Just the right amount. Some people from Ireland and Texas sat behind us. Looks like there was lots of awards cut out from newspapers on the wall. I'd go again.

Large menu with a lot of options for dishes not commonly seen in your average Chinese restaurant.

Loved the Beijing duck for sure, but other than that, it’s just ok. Food is a bit pricey and has only one bathroom, which is bit awkward…

Nice typical place for Chinatown. It always feels pricey eating anywhere in the city compared to the burbs.
We ordered crab Rangoon, salt and pepper fish, orange chicken, combo fried rice, and sweet n sour chx. No drinks. Our total was $110 with tip.

Came with my grandma who spoke in Canto.
That was helpful for ordering!
We walked over and we were greeted right away by someone at the front desk.
They were helpful in seeing we needed a high chair for our little one.
Service was pretty good to me. You can order using a paper or their tablet.
The food was good and filling.
I liked their decorations.

Loved it! Went for lunch during the week and the service was very fast. They brought out water, tea and a complimentary cabbage side dish that was just perfect. I got the mapo tofu with a side of rice and it was so flavourful I wanted to come back immediately. The dish was a good size for two people by the way.

We visited Lao Sze Chuan in Chicago Chinatown purely based on its neat authentic red decor, but were then dazzled by the spicy dishes. Service quite on-key, and we were given free parking for dining here.
For complimentary appetizer, we received a Spicy Cabbage in Chili Oil that was refreshing & crunchy with bursts of heat. It was nice start. This was followed by Steamed Pork Belly with Mustard Greens, a savory dish that relies on the umami flavours of the tender pork bellies. We were especially impressed with Chef Tony's Special Dry Chili Chicken, a huge plate of boneless chicken bites that was unapologetically spicy & aromatic. We happily consumed till full with our bowls of rice.
Turns out, this is in fact one of well-known Chinese restaurant chains in Chicago. The owner ate at the table next to us with an associate. We read later he rose to local fame & success, only to to serve time for taxes!

First time trying this place. Have to say i was not disappointed. Service was standard but the food was delicious!
We ordered the Tenderloin Steak and Green peppers, House Special Spicy Vegetable Fried Rice, Boiled Sole Fish Fillet in Spicy Szechuan Sauce and a couple egg rolls. Every single thing we ordered was delicious.
I was scared to order the boiled sole but oh boy am i glad i tried it! It was so flavorful and spicy. I absolutely loved it! Will definitely be back to try some other things on the menu.
