Incredible food, budget friendly and a very well-decorated, peaceful ambience! If you are in Chicago and enjoy middle eastern cuisine YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE. I came here with my Syrian-American friend and her lovely Syrian mother. We ordered all our favorites — lamb couscous, lamb tagine, beef sausage, beet salad, and more — and we were so impressed with every order. The lamb here is NEXT LEVEL. The owner is a great guy too! He’s a recent PhD graduate who is just lovely to talk to. We ordered a bunch of food and on top of that he gave us an eggplant appetizer on the house! I can’t wait to be back!!
I loved my experience at this place!
I had the Lamb Marrakech, which is a lamb tagine, and Harira, a delicious flavorful soup. The lamb was not overly seasoned but still cooked perfectly with artichoke hearts and peas. It was just delicious.
The customer service of the place was also pretty good. I will definitely visit again when I get the chance to next time I’m in Chicago.
Went here on a Friday evening, 2 of us. The place is cozy, the ambiance is relaxing, and the service is great. We loved the man that was our waiter. The food was delicious. We had the lamb with couscous, the veggie sampler, the hummus, the chicken pastilla, and the Moroccan mint tea. We are definitely going back. Recommended.
Had an excellent dinner at Shokran. The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable. They have 3 dining areas in their space. The food was really good. But what made this a 5 🌟 experience was the great service we had throughout the evening. Would highly recommend a visit!
Amazing spot. The people here are so welcoming and explain their menu really well if you have any questions. Place itself has a homey feel to it and the people here make you feel like it is as well. The food is so good and the lamb tagine was incredibly succulent. Downside is that they only take cash but there is an ATM in the restaurant.
Outstanding option for an excellent service experience and unmatched vibes in the comfortable and warm interior. The food certainly isn’t a gourmet silk road option, but is authentically prepared and does not disappoint those looking for vegetarian or healthy options. The mint tea is fresh and delectable. I shall return!
Moroccan food, Love lamp menu and mint tea (traditional) There are 3 dinning separate room. you can choose where you like. No alcohol drink BYOB place. and Cash only. It seem like only 1 server for the whole restaurant but he is good on service and food is not slow.
Food was very delicious and cooked perfectly, loved the lamb with the couscous. The man working was super sweet and talked with a lot of joy about Morocco showing us pictures. The atmosphere was very cozy, perfect for cold weather
Awesome experience.
You can bring your own beverage. Food is outstanding. Service is excellent. Everything is freshly made. I love their Moroccan tea. The atmosphere is very relaxing. We felt like home.
10 Stars!!! Probably the BEST food I ever had! Cushioned bench seating with pillows ---sooo comfy! Another treat was the owner was so friendly. Showed pictures and shared some history on Morocco! Found this place by accident riding my bike. It's easily missed if you're driving as it's tucked away. Will be telling everyone about this place. Can't wait to go back and will be bringing friends!
