It was very intimate and the food was wonderful. A little higher price but we were downtown for a special occasion!

I love the crispy furikake calamari and deep dish pizza. You definitely should check out their food if you’re staying at the hotel.

Great atmosphere and location. Friendly waitstaff. The location: This restaurant/lounge is located on the second floor - per its namesake. ;) I made the mistake of trying to enter on St Clair St, but you should enter on Erie under the Hyatt Centric sign. When you enter the lobby on Erie street, you take the elevator to the second floor and turn left. You will see some seating areas and a bar. The tables have a QR code so you can view the menu. The staff: The staff members I interacted with seemed happy and focused on doing their job well. The food: Crispy Baby Furikake Calamari with Plum Sauce: I enjoyed this dish. I love calamari and plum sauce which adds a sweet and tangy flavor to the salty calamari. Pizza I had a slice of the cheese pizza which was good. The cheese on it was flavorful, and the crust was not too thick or too thin. Was it my favorite pizza ever? No- but my favorite is traditional style from Naples. For a chicago pizza, I would eat this again. The other two options were veggie or pork, sausage, bacon and pepperoni. Short rib quesadilla with sides of salsa, crema, cilantro, and lime This was my favorite! The short rib was flavorful but then adding the toppings made this absolutely delicious. I would come back just for this. Dessert: Puff pastry with chocolate, caramel filled chocolate, cheesecake on shortbread, and fresh berries. This was good. I wish I had tasted the mousse on shortbread as well, because I love mousse, but the cheesecake was fine. The puff pastry was my favorite Drink: I asked for a nonalcoholic drink and the bartender offered a ginger and lime. This was great. I love ginger, and the lime made it feel like a mocktail. Not too sweet either :)

In January, I had an awesome dinner here that I think about every day! Food was prepared excellent and the cocktails were creative and delicious. We split the prix fixe they were offering, which came with filet mignon. I normally don't eat filet mignon, but it was just perfectly cooked. It was completely dead, so the lady and I got personalized, optimal service. I used to come here nearly a decade ago frequently, and it would get really hopping when the hotel was full. I imagine it's still the same today. But on a dead Sunday night, I got to realize the gal staring at me is the woman I'm going to marry someday. On a dead Sunday night, the bartender could have been uninterested and unfriendly, but instead he made the experience even better. Of course I don't remember his name, so his boss can't shout him :( So yeah, on a dead Sunday night, Level 2 stepped up and found itself with sentimental value for two discerning travelers. I give it the highest recommendation.

We ordered the wild mushroom bisque and the truffle fries during our stay at Hyatt Centric. The food was fantastic and honestly the highlight of our culinary experience in Chicago this weekend. Would recommend and will definitely be back!
