Our dinner was excellant! Our waitress, Marie, helped with the drink selection, both of which were delicious. Two of us ordered from the daily specials. We had fettuccine bolognese, the steak special with roasted potatoes, and fettuccine alla Franco. All were to die for! Every single thing from the bread with olive oil to the entrees to the homemade tirimisu were exceptional. Worth every penny! The best Italian food I've had since visiting italy. Thank you Marie and the entire staff for an excellant evening.
Went on a Wednesday night around 6, got seated right away. Laura was our server; she was friendly and polite. Ordered the chicken giardiniera, which came out in just over ten minutes- wow! It was seasoned perfectly and I had to take some home it was a large portion. We were out of there in under 40 minutes, I couldn't believe it.
My friend found Franc’s Ristorante! Sooo, let me get into it. Before I get into it, my friend was the one who made reservations. I was under the impression that it would be just a normal Italian place. I would be remised if I would say that it was normal. The food, of the food! It was hands down the best Italian place I have been to since living here in Illinois. The pasta was cooked perfectly. And the amount of heat / spicy that it was made me want to keep eating more of it. Even the salad, everything in it was coated in the dressing. And the pizza was like eating heaven. Now on to the service. It was perfect our waiter / waitress checked in often and asked what we needed or if things were good. And they were highly attentive. The atmosphere was excellent all the pictures and the lighting made the experience one that I would not forget. Overall, I will say give Franco’s a try you will not regret it and will want to come back to try more things on the menu!
The atmosphere here is to die for. The gal handling food coming out of the window clearly is the person you want to steal if you ever open a restaurant. She was balancing food for the dinning room and take out customers. She also seemed to recognize, greet, and care about regulars.
The only thing that keeps it from being a five for me is we had the unfortunate experience of the bartender being out, and a server filling in. Not a single mixed drink was right, had to switch to bottled beer for our safety LOL
Can't say enough about the service, the dishes from salads, main dishes to desserts. Excellent!
You can make a reservation or go as "walk-in". After 6pm on a Saturdays, it gets busy and crowded. So a rsvn is recommended.

If there's a ball game going on, be sure to let the host know. They will provide a parking pass, which you need to return after your meal.

By far the best Italian restaurant. It is truly a hidden gem but the atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. Our server Ralph was amazing and went above and beyond. I highly recommend making this play your go-to. I tried the spicy pene pesto and it was so good.
Awesome spot! Recommended by a colleague and glad we came. One of the best pastas I’ve ever had, including in Italy. The spicy sauce on the shrimp was insanely good. Loved the bread and olive oil. Tiramisu was heavenly
This place has been opened for 34+ years for a reason. The food is absolutely amazing. The creamy balsamic on the calamari was awesome. They had a sage and pumpkin ravioli in the daily menu that I was never tried anywhere else. Creative and impeccable
Very cute small Italian restaurant. Went here with my beautiful girlfriend and had a wonderful time. Appetizers, dinner, and ambience were all delightful. Had the gnocchi and whipped ricotta appetizer. Very tasty. Service was great too.
I am 63 years old and have traveled all over the world.
This was in the top ten and the best Italian restaurant I have eaten in Chicago.

First dined here one night since close and convenient. Wasn't overly hungry so just looking for something quick. When we were served fresh bread with olive oil and parmesan cheese to start, we knew we'd be back. Two days later we returned for dinner. It took a few minutes but the waitress remembered us; very friendly and made sure we were okay. Can't say enough positive things about this place. I'm from NYC area so that's saying something. Big portions, great tasting food, service was great. Definitely will be back when in town.
