We ordered a large array of dishes from jalapeño hamachi crudo, the mirai combination, tuna tuna salmon roll, unagi and avocado maki roll, and hamachi kama amongst others.
Paired with numerous bottles of hot sake, it was a wonderful meal with exceptional company. The service was attentive and friendly. It is definitely a local spot that I will return to.
Would recommend the special salmon roll and the shrimp togarashi in particular, but all the sushi options were solid. My only gripes were that it wasn't a very good value/price ratio (especially with ACYE Sushi Taku nearby), and it took forever to get our food.
Fantastic food that's really a cut above. Everything that we ordered was incredibly flavorful and delicious.
Only real downside is the price, but for what you are getting its quite worth it.

One of the best sushi places you can go and definitely the best in Chicago. It's expensive but well worth the cost. From friendly service to amazing fish this place truly satisfies the soul.
Sometimes we forget and overlook what’s been in front of us for over a decade.. quality cannot be forgotten.. a must to visit.. all of it is exceptional.
Talk about a hidden gem. We literally fly to Chicago just to have sushi here. There is no comparison to the quality of the fish and rice. We went to Nobu a month ago and it was a joke compared to Mirai. It’s worth every dollar. Be prepared for it to ruin every other sushi place you eat at after.

This is mine and my wife's go to spot for sushi. The ingredients they use are always super fresh. The service is on point. The main waiter, think his name is John, is always fun to talk to and very knowledgeable. Great recommendations every time. Would suggest a reservation. But in a pinch we've always been able to get a table within 45 minutes or so. Which in my opinion is very reasonable, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. If you're in the area definitely check them out.
Everyone thinks they know the best sushi place but they don't. This is the best sushi. I can't believe they're closed now. I havent eaten sushi anywhere else since I first tried this place 20 years ago
When we looked at all these reviews, we thought they must be exaggerating. There's no way this place can be THAT good, right? Wrong. This is the best sushi we've ever had, with excellent service to boot. We legitimately cannot recommend it enough and plan on returning frequently to sample everything on the expansive menu. In short, this place is amazing, and we recommend it to everyone!
