The Palace Grill is a great spot to grab something to eat on the near westside. George and his staff provide nothing but the best of service. The food is the very best. I recommend the Palace Burger. Oh, and if you are a #Blackhawks fan this is the place to go. So much Blackhawks memorabilia it's like a museum. Check it out.
I love the Palace Grill. We go way back when it was just a counter to sit at........The menu is full of great choices. The food is delicious and full of flavor. My favorite, of course, is the Cobb Salad!! George, the owner, is a character and a great guy, and his lovely daughter Christina is a perfect match for the Palace.
An excellent diner - no wonder it's been going strong for more than eighty years! I went there for the first time last week, and just needed something simple - a hamburger, fries, and a drink. The server made me a wonderful cherry Coke, and the burger was freshly made and delicious. Great pickle too! Everything hit the spot. I was there close to closing, but they did not rush me at all. I'll be back again!
It was my first time here and I really like this spot. The owner and staff are everything! They are extremely kind and attentive. The place itself is in the smaller side but trust, that’s part of the experience. There was a great family feel to it. The chicken and rice soup was so good and the coffee is not for the weak. I split the palace skillet with my friend and I don’t know how to describe it, but everything tasted good separately but not necessarily together. I’d still go back and order the same thing maybe with a runnier egg to mix more. The pancakes were exactly what I needed to finish off. I totally recommend ✨
For a Blackhawks fan like Me, this is Heaven! The Wife and I love coming here before We go to a game. George and His Staff are AWESOME! Our Server Shannon was so good. I would recommend this place to anyone, except for Detroit fans.... Hahaha! Do Yourself a favor and please check em out. You will not be disappointed. P.S. the food was excellent!
As good as any classic breakfast place I've been to, anywhere, not just Chicago. The whole menu is just quality food prepared right. George always seems to be there and checks in on his guests regularly. I suppose the decor could be obnoxious if you don't like the Blackhawks! 🤷♂️
We've been wanting to try this spot for years. Wish we had done it sooner. A fantastic "Greeky spoon." Fun, Blackhawks themed atmosphere. Typical Greek diner offering. All the food was delicious. They have both breakfast and lunch options. We met George, the owner. Terrific guy! Good strong coffee. Friendly/attentive service. Some parking behind the restaurant. Some side items cost extra so ask if you don't want to be surprised. We'll definitely be back! Thanks, George!!!
Absolutely love this place for breakfast and lunch. Reminiscent of a bygone era the food is comfort food and it is delicious. The servings are large and many of the customers are large as well. I call it the joint with big guys eat, I am 6'2_ 240 lbs, and several of the men were larger. Have a hockey team with some nice jerseys hanging and the location is down the street from the United center. I recommend this as a place to stop if you're on the west side of Chicago
The food is great! The Chorizo burrito is one of my favorite items to eat. Soo delicious, a must try! Atmosphere is awesome. I love the way the owner greets everyone. I also love that they keep a doggie bowl in front of the establishment full of treats.
First time visit and loved sitting at the old school counter. Food was served fast and fresh - delicious Greek omelette. Diana, our server, was pleasant and very attentive - the owner too comes around and asks if everything was good. Service at its best. I’ll be back.
Found this place quite randomly near to where I was staying. Real American diner feel and the owner is clearly a massive Hawks fan which gives the place a real atmosphere. Loved the food! A real American breakfast diner treat! (Visited October 2018)
This diner has that classic American diner feel with a menu to match. I’ve had the steak sandwich, an omelet that makes a chipotle burrito look small, and always a bucket of mimosas. The owner frequently walks around asking how everything is, and the staff is always kind and attentive. Definitely a new Sunday routine.
