Finally my Southport 'hood gets an adult restaurant!! Billy, GM Francis and their great staff have launched a fantastic new spot in Chicago that rivals any restaurant in Chicago! Great food, solid wine list and attentive staff makes this Southport spot my new fave! Can't wait for them to open the patio!!
A gem. Great food. Wonderful wine selection and interesting cocktails. The bar is fantastic and airy. Just adds more class to Southport Corridor and a menu that will please. Staff is friendly and the place is bustling with good energy all around to make the food experience even better...
The service and the food are amazing. We’ve been there many times and have never had a “bad” menu item. Hunter, Tony and Sarah (beverage manager) are attentive, engaging, and enthusiastic about the overall experience. Highly recommend Coda di Volpe…photos are from NYE tasting menu.
First time having a meal here and it was such a delicious lunch! Service was friendly, personable, and attentive! The pizzas are thinner than what we were expecting but that didn't matter after we had the first bite! Will definitely be back!
From the incredible service at the bar to the stellar team at the front of house, they really created some incredible touch points throughout this spot.
Huge fans of their adaptability for different dietary restrictions, it has been forever since I had delicious Italian food that was gluten free. This will be my go to spot whenever I am in Chicago.
Oh and be sure to see what special concoctions the bar is brewing up, the tepache tequila cocktail was magic on ice.
Chicago restaurant week with a bang! We went here last night and again our city proves once again why we are the food capital of the world!!! Flavor profile was insane!!! The pizza was made in a brick oven, we had the
Mortadella e Pistachio:
pork mortadella, mozzarella di bufala, caciocaval basil, pistachio pesto. That was 🔥🔥
The dish of the NIGHT WAS
Mafaldine di granchio:crab, preserved lemon, calabrian chili, marjoram,
pangrattato... bruh it felt like Mike Tyson punching your tongue with the way the flavors were jumping off!
Next was the bucatini bianco:
fennel sausage, pecorino romano
It was cheesy but it was overpowering it was just right..
1st dessert was brown butter custard, apple tart, juniper berry gelato.... basically a elevated apple pie!!
2nd was chocolate Hazelnut Torte
candied orange, vanilla whipped cream.. this was the finest chocolate ever!
The drinks Monte Melograno:
Montenegro, Mile High Vodka, pomegranate, cardamom, rosemary, apple... I always get a whiskey drink but I have so much whiskey at home I switched it up this was actually pretty good and I'm kinda paying for it this morning.🥴🥴 also Rhubarb & Ginger Lightworks:
slushie cocktail in the style of sgroppino: vodka, cream orangecello, saltwater & prosecco..
That was just the food now to the customer service!! We eat out ALOT but this was by far the best service we've ever had! It was Chicago restaurant week and for the staff to be attentive to guest during a rush like they had on Friday night; its the difference from restaurants that get it and those that don't!!! We'll most definitely will be back!
Awesome pizza and Italian food. The outdoor sitting gives an European setting. The food had the right temperature and Italian taste to it. Serves were helpful and polite. Overall it was a great experience to have authentic Italian food in the middle of downtown Chicago.
We went for dinner and we sat outside. It did take a little bit before our wait staff came around. But once he did he was great. Will was very knowledgeable about the wine. I got the spaghetti with meatballs. It was decent but needed a little bit more flavor. And we got a Cesar salad and some of the meatball appetizers. Those are really good. And Will offered tastings on some of the wines that we had questions about which was really nice. We also got a pizza which was delicious. We stayed up until they closed and there was no pressure to get done and leave. I also got the tiramisu and a chocolate martini for dessert and it was fantastic. I will be going back.
What a spectacular evening! The spaghetti di pomodora, gluten free, is probably the best I've had. The first time I've eaten an entire serving of spaghetti! And I forgot to take a photo. The sauce was so fresh and light but filling. The appetizer the same, even the cheese. A big thank you to the staff and general manager! Good leadership trickles down and patrons are served well by the menu and each member of Coda di Volpe.
