I love Garrett’s, it’s the best popcorn I’ve ever had, and I love that the butter is vegan because it’s my favorite. Yay for being plant based friendly! I hope there will be more vegan options in the future, I would love to try the nut popcorn selections!
I wish I got the employee’s name who was working this evening (7 June 2023) because he was AWESOME! So friendly, courteous and overall great attitude. My friend and I came in and he popped some fresh butter popcorn for me and gave her a sample of the nut varieties which she ended up buying a mix after tasting. He was so pleasant, quick and efficient that I hope his managers recognize him for being the standard of perfect service at Garrett’s 🍿
This is a great location, super close to the river and all Michigan Ave has to offer. The Jackson street location is actually slightly closer to where I live but this is my new favorite location💫

I'm in Chicago for a short connection and I suddenly remember the Garrett I tasted about 15 years ago. What can I say about the smell and the buttery taste. Wow. To try it is to adopt it. Still just as good.
Flavor through the kernel, so good. Place is small but people move through quickly. Flavors are presented in a clear acrylic divider and have an option to get a bag or tin can $$.

Okay, let me just get to the point: the best part? The popcorn, of course! I don’t think you can come to Chicago and not try this popcorn. It’s SO good!!! And it’s convenient that they have more then one location you can go to. The worst part? I’ve been to another Garret’s before and that experience was super busy and it took us a long time to get inside but I felt like it was all a part of the experience. This time around, this location was not busy at all and I felt rushed by the lady behind the counter. She wasn’t very friendly but it was nearing about 7pm and I’m sure she was tired, she seemed to be working on her own. They also had very little left but we managed to get 2 medium bags and one small. We got caramel, cheddar and butter and they are so good!! So, keep in mind the later you go in the day, you might risk them running out of a flavor you want. The giant containers, in my opinion, are crazy expensive (friendly or family container I think was $96) but the other bags are better priced.
I recently visited the Garrett Popcorn Shops in Chicago, and I was extremely impressed with the customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the popcorn was amazing! The popcorn was freshly made and delicious. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a great snack. The staff were especially wonderful and really made the experience enjoyable.
