Since my father passed away 10 years ago I always go to mass on the anniversary of his passing...Followed by breakfast… I've been coming here 7 out of the 10 yrs...Every year I think I'm going to go somewhere different but to be honest this is a wonderful place that I can sit and have breakfast alone and reflect… and the food is really good as well…I was lucky to find it… This neighborhood place is a keeper… and I highly recommend it

I had a special date, for brunch, with my Niece, at Tre Kronor. The place is charming. The smells of coffee and good food are intoxicating (we were very hungry, when we arrived). The staff was friendly and helpful. The meal was terrific!

This Scandinavian eatery is a gem! We were passing through Chicago and saw this on a few blog reviews. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed dining outdoors! The raspberry custard pastry with coarse ground cardamom in it was delightful! Not super sweet and very fluffy. Raspberries were hand picked by the owner. The salmon (wild caught) and dill quiche was delicious and light, served as a large portion - I couldn't even finish! The shrimp omelette was delicious, wonderful and amazing (according to my husband). Our server was very easy to converse with and the owner, Patti came to chat with us. She sources her ingredients locally, where possible. They import other meats from Denmark. They've been in business for 31 years. We are definitely going to go back next time we're in Chicago!

What a quaint spot. On a work trip to Chicago, I was looking for a breakfast spot a little off the beaten path. This place is clearly popular & known, but I like that it's not I the middle of more heavily transited neighborhoods. I was lucky that I came on a day their amazing cardamom knots were baked (I overheard a server say they are not available every day) & got to taste one, so delicious! I asked for the lingonberry jam & happy I did so because it brought a bit of sweetness to it that I appreciated. I liked it so much I ordered one to go to bring to NYC with me. I also had the salmon, cheese & dill omlette, also delicious. I loved the atmosphere, which is cozy & non-pretentious. The service was attentive and hospitable. I very much enjoyed this spot & highly recommend it. Lots of options on menu to suit multiple tastes. Also, I would recommend taking a stroll to the Swedish shop across the street, a fun pit stop after your decadent & scrumptious breakfast.

Delectable food, cozy atmosphere and service that always makes you feel at home. Tre Kronor provides you with warmth and comfort in the fall/winter and freshness and renewal in the spring/summer. The menu is full of your old favorites along with seasonal additions and out of this world pastries.

Plating on baby plates was odd. Coffee hot and fresh with real half and half and sugar shaker. Sausage was tasty. Orange juice is fresh squeezed;

Lovely quaint little restaurant with great food & wonderful atmosphere. We sat inside, but next time may try outside. Our daughter found this restaurant and thought we'd give it a try. Between us 3 we had the Pannekaker pancake (crepe), Quiche of the day (broccoli cheddar) and the Reubenssen sandwich. Also had the Dutch Onion Soup, which was oh so awesome. Everything was so delicious. Prices were very affordable. Will definitely be back even we are in town again and would recommend to all.

Love this great, sweet Swedish spot! The Salmon Omelet was so tasty and the Belgian Waffle was beautiful and the Swedish Cornbeef Hash-a delight. Fresh-squeezed Orange Juice and Lingonberrys topped off our Brunch perfectly.

Came for brunch on a weekend and the place was hustling bustling! Loved the tight family like atmosphere. Great spot to catch up with your bestie. Staff was attentive and helpful. Food was great! The cappuccino was yummy, so were the pancakes, French toast and potatoes.

Food: Incredible! The dill & salmon quiche was decadent; absolutely delicious. Others in our group loved their food as well! Drink: The coffee was amazing; smooth as silk! Service: Very slow; we were there for nearly 3 hours, drinks infrequently refilled, etc. HOWEVER, I totally get it. The servers were working VERY HARD, running around like crazy, and I was happy to compensate our server with a 20+% tip! I'm sharing this because you shouldn't expect to be in and out in a jiffy! If you are, order take out!
