I totally enjoyed this little gem of a restaurant. We ordered the Dover sole for two and absolutely enjoyed the feast. Service was prompt and quick. Very cozy atmosphere although quarters were tight. Order the souffle in advance, and two people can share one order because they are HUGE. See pics.

La Sardine is a lovely quaint French restaurant with cozy tables and soft music. Happy hour featured great specials like halibut collar ($4 each!), charcuterie board ($16), and oysters ($12/dozen). The drinks were also a hit! The "grumpy Frenchmen" cocktail ($9) may sound sweet but it is actually very citrusy and refreshing. The halibut collar was perfectly cooked and had a lot of meat left on the bones! Desserts are also a must have...creme brulee and souflees both excellent (we ended up ordering another round!) Overall the delicious food was highlighted with the excellent service by our server, Richard. He was very attentive, personable, and anticipated our every need. Kudos to Richard and team LA Sardine!

La Sardine was a very pleasant experience and is a hidden gem in the west loop. Now that McDonald's is taking over there, it is a pleasant surprise to find authentic french restaurant culture so close by a Fast Food Chain's headquarter. The smoke salmon omelette I had for lunch tasted great with fine nuances in taste and texture that certainly reflects french influence. The ambiance was also authentic, and you felt like you are visiting a restaurant in Bordeaux downtown.

This French bistro restaurant is buzzing as soon as you walk in. You are greeted by the invitation of delicious smelling aromas from the open kitchen, at the back of the restaurant. Food tastes delicious, especially beef Wellington and soufflé which is prepared authentically. This place is wonderful and worth it.

Went for the Pre Fixe lunch. I had stewed oxtail and lobster salad, the lady had layonaisse salad and a quiche with goat cheese, leeks and spinach. We had the mussels in a red pepper cream sauce. Dessert was chocolate mouse and ceme brûlée. Absolutely amazing!!! Great service from Elia. Highly recommend and will return.

Today prix fixe is a really good deal!! $35 with appetizer, entree, and dessert! All the food was great but the service was extremely slow. This is one of the best onion soup I've ever had and I don't even like onion. It was not salty like most other onion soup and there were plenty gruyere! I could actually use a little more onion in it. The seafood soup was amazing. Everything in it was cooked perfectly. There were so many variety of shellfish and fish in it. Salmon and quinoa were a wonderful simple dish that is great for kids. The chocolate souffle was warm and soft, perfectly melted in your mouth. Overall portion was a bit large for me, so I couldn't really enjoy the souffle until the next day. Everything tasted just as good as leftover. I'd suggest getting an extra appetizer and share the prix fixe with someone if you don't wanna be overly full. It took 40+ minutes between the soups and the entrees were served. Our server didn't really come by much, I had to ask other servers for what I need a few times. Despite the slow service, I'd still go back to try other dishes. Everything tasted very good.

Food is amazing! Sirloin was great with an herb butter. Also had the bacon wrapped scallops, however this is not enough to be a meal unless you are eating on the petite side. Friendly staff and great bartenders. I attended a rehearsal dinner of 90+ people here.

Really nice date spot, authentic French food (to my untrained taste buds) and nice atmosphere. I'd recommend the French onion soup, boulliabaise, and soufflé. The French onion is pretty cheesy but that's just a plus for me, it also was flavorful but not overly salty or dense. It's one of the best I've had! Same can be said for the soufflé, it was light, airy and sweet but didn't feel overpowering. I really enjoyed the boulliabaise, it's flavors deep and the stock super rich and delicious. Although I wish it had a bit more in it. It had a wide assortment of seafood like a bit of lobster, mini scallops, mussels clams and fresh fish. The waiter was nice and the atmosphere lively. It will pack a punch on your wallet though but perfect place for a special occasion!

The French Onion Soup and Soufflé is definitely worth the hype! We went on a Saturday night. The restaurant was packed, and TBH the seating is a bit crowded. But the whole place has great ambiance, and feels very authentic. We had the French Onion Soup and Soft Shell Crab as appetizer, with Magret De Canard (duck breast) and Bouillabaisse La Sardine (seafood mixed stew) as entree. The seafood tastes fresh, but the duck meat is really raw...like bloody raw. So make sure if you are ok with eating raw duck if you want this dish. But I still like the overall dining experience here. We finished up with the famous chocolate soufflé, very chocolaty but a very light sweetness, which I like very much.
