A year ago from today, for the first time I visited such an amazing and obvious place in Illinois as Terzo Piano. My girlfriend and I were delighted with the food, wine and view! It was a big surprise for my birthday! The location is amazing, great interior, with huge windows and great views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago downtown skyline. We had octopus (one of their most famous dishes) and soup, both were lovely and just as tasty as they looked. We also took desserts - very well-balanced flavors. Today We ordered a pizza... I look forward to reopening!!

2 -3 hours in museum halls and you are tired, can’t already feel the art, the mood , the beauty – you need to relax. So – there was a Terzo Piano Restaurant ( not easy to find on schema – better ask employees there). And here we are - elegant place in sophisticated design, light furniture, airy space …You can see the bar but kitchen …covered from customer’s eyes . Good sign! Don't remember if I saw Piano there . The meal , mostly Italian also looks contemporary. Small portions with a touch of…art.. We got soups – roaster cauliflower , grilled octopus and grilled chicken with charred peal onions. Every dish was delicious, tasty for our joy. We felt relaxed , exchanged impressions of the pictures we have seen….Nice atmosphere, pleasant drinks. There was also some dessert – you see what is left on the picture. Do not remember what it was. But good. Come to watch Art and get some tasty bite in the same kind of Culinary Art. You wouldn’t regret when you did.

Came here for restaurant week. The cauliflower soup, ink squid pasta, and toffee cake was fantastic. Also recommend the cheese and olives. The restaurant has great view of the Art Institute. Modern and classic ambience.

The appetizers and entrees we're slightly under-seasoned this time, but the cocktails and desserts were really delicious. The atmosphere, per usual, was lovely.

Nice atmosphere, fairly inattentive service and mixed marks on food. Some of the items we had such as the duck and the flat bread were excellent with complimentary flavors which brought out the best in the ingredients. However one of the mains with lamb and pasta had an overpowering acidic sauce that drowned out any flavors the lambs had. Overall still a good experience and quite reasonably priced for what and where it is.

I live visiting Terzo Piano after spending time at the Art Institute. The restaurant is open, full of light emanating from the massive windows that give you breathtaking views of the city. Better than the ambiance and the views are the food and service. I definitely recommend.

My experience at Terzo Piano was delightful. The food was fresh and flavorful. I will definitely come back. I had the seared trout with chimichurri and fresh greens atop. My dessert was a chocolate hazelnut tarte. The environment was open and airy. A wonderful place to dine at in the loop.

Certainly artistic and open floor plan, minimalistic in design, so is the food presentation, delicious, but overpriced and small portions, the lentil soup is not traditional, i.e. less lentil more other veggies, light but did the trick of serving as a nutritional snack.
