Amazing service and food! We had the seafood variety appetizer, the ocean roll, and crab legs with dessert. Julie took care of us and did an excellent job! The hostess were so sweet and also were very welcoming and inviting when we walked in. And we had the best spot for dinner with a table outside . Highly recommend (ask for Julie!) and we will be going back.
Had a great time. Highly recommend their "elevation dinner". Get to try a nice array of choices. Although all at table must do it or you must order off the regular menu. The choices were fantastic. Dom Perignon as well as other wines were included (and endless, which is a rarity downtown). Will we return? Absolutely. Wait staff were wonderful, helpful, very informative.
Stopped in for apps and s cocktail. Bar staff was friendly and helpful. Had calamari, grilled octopus, and Cajun spicy corn and Alaskan King Crab chowder. Chowder was phenomenal. Cala I was a little salty. Octopus was really good. Will definitely return!!
As the seafood focused sibling to Chicago Cut Steakhouse, you get the same attention to detail to your seafood as CCut gives your steak. Start your journey at their market and select your still on ice fresh fish. For those of us that enjoy a little surf and turf, they still have all the favorites from the fishes land relatives.
I was lucky to be able to have tried 4 types of fish with 3 separate preparations. All were great but two stood out. The butter sauce prep did not overpower the Dover Sole. While the Gurnard was sweet as expected with a hint of the grill on the back end.
Good food and good selection of fish. Looking at the whole fish on ice they are fairly fresh but not the best I've seen. Bar staff was friendly and guided us to the best menu items. It's pretty expensive though and probably not worth the premium over some other options.
It was my birthday and wanted to go some where new and refreshing not the usual same old genre. Having dined at Chicago Cut expectations were quite high for our 1st Ocean Cut dinner. WOW! Liz our waitress was excellent very knowledgeable of menu and wine pairing. Brought several white wine choices for us to choose from. Liz knocked it out of the park helping us pick out seriously Delicious! dishes to go with our fish picks. Garrett was all over making sure I was having a Happy Birthday all of the staff was moving fluidly amongst all the full tables. They also have all of the to die for steaks that Chicago Cut has!! My group was in heaven with all the choices! I will be sending all of clients to this gem of the Chicago Cut restaurant group! HUGE Shout out to Terri D who has always been their to set up Epic nights out at Chicago Cut locations. We all thought prices were just fine especially with the seafood we have all fresh and perfectly cooked! Just Saying this because of other reviews. Ocean Cut top of our list for seafood in Chicago!
Food was amazing. Enjoyed 5 courses here. Only issue was that my bf asked for a wine recommendation to pair with his steak. The waiter brought him THE MOST expensive glass on the menu. With no heads up about the cost.
Our meal was over $600 for 2 people. We shared 3 of the courses.
My wife and I dined at Ocean Cut recently and were very impressed. First and foremost, the service was exemplary. Our waiter, Simon, was terrific -- extremely friendly, attentive and knowledgable. We both ordered the prix fixe Elevation Dinner, which includes champagne and wine parings for each course. The pours were quite generous, and the food was absolutely delicious.
Lives up to the Chicago Cut name. The whole fish is incredible and you get to pick it out yourself if you want. Waitress was very attentive and explained all the different types of fish and their flavor profiles before letting us physically pick the specific fish we each wanted. Very cool. Great cocktails. Airy dining room. Met one of the owners and he was super nice. Can't recommend enough.
Have been here twice (lunch and dinner), both experiences were good. I felt lunch was better than dinner. Wait staff I think more eager to satisfy you during lunch. The lunch had a great soup (clam chowder) and fish. For dinner, we had apps to share along with individual entrees. I would return, probably continue to try the cuts of fish from the menu. This is a pretty $$ place, so it will be once in awhile place to go.
I celebrated my Birthday at Ocean Cut! It was the best service I ever got, and I was treated like a queen. The staff really took care of me and my 8 girlfriends very well. The whole experience from making reservations to eating my last bite of dessert was such a breeze. I called ahead of time and the host on the phone made sure my requests were addressed and answered all my questions. She really helped me plan the night. My waiter, Roberto, was so professional yet so sweet. He made sure everything was going the way I wanted it to be, and made sure each of my guests were satisfied. I give him an A+ for the night. Not only was the service superb, the food was amazing as well. I am an absolute seafood lover, and the seafood was super fresh and delicious. I had the enormous seafood tower and multiple sharing plates. My friends that are not into seafood had a variety of alternative options to choose from, and they were satisfied with their steak and lamb chops. Plenty of good quality wine and champagne on the table. The restaurant has a great, open and vibrant atmosphere. This was a fantastic and memorable Birthday. Thank you Ocean Cut, Roberto, Matt Moore and the team in making my 26th Birthday a success! Cheers!

Wow was I impressed! I had the salt crusted branzino with the roasted veggies and vinaigrette. They filleted the fish in front of your table. The service is amazing and the servers are extremely knowledgeable about the fresh fish selections as well. If the weather is nice out, I'd recommend getting a table outside.
