My family and I went there around 11am on a Friday.The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The server was friendly but not very knowledgeable. The vegetables and greens tasted fresh but some dishes lacked flavor. The Caesar salad was presented as maybe half a romaine with leaves in tact which means you'll have to do your own cutting to provide bite size pieces for your mouth. The fries were seasoned with a barbecue dust that resembles those of Freddie's. I'm not a barbecue fan so I wouldn't order them again. It was nice for a one time meal however nothing really attractive to make me come back to eat. The drinks were delicious however, good place to have brunch drinks with friends before heading out on the town.

We were really excited to try this restaurant. I loved the decor and atmosphere. The food fell a bit short for me though. As odd as it sounds, the French toast was very, very sweet; I couldn't even use syrup with it. The overall taste of the French toast was good, the berries were a lovely addition as was the marscapone cheese. We also got a sandwich which was pretty good. I would likely go back, but I'd try something else.

Went for brunch and it was great. Baklava croissant was our favorite! Definitely get it.
Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the spoiled overall experience due to flies inside the restaurant. When asked them to close the door, their response was that they cannot as they have a customer sitting outside and so they need to keep the door open until they leave. Could have just opened it as needed at the time of serving them!

🦋Attached to the Viceroy Chicago hotel, this restaurant has a large patio and beautiful décor that seamlessly flows between the restaurant and hotel. Designed with stunning gold finishes, the atmosphere shares elegance and pizazz all in one.
We sat in a round booth which made us feel happy and comfortable…and a little boujee 👸🏿🤴🏽. Our waiter was quick to greet us and share the drink and food selections with us.
We each got a light beer. I got a chilled pea soup which was amazing…if you’re into chilled soups. I love pea soup but never knew that I didn’t like chilled soups. Nevertheless, it was really good and they even poured the soup into the bowl right in front of us 🤩🤩.
We decided to share the air fried chicken. It was really good. Super moist chicken breast that was not greasy at all (thanks to the air fry). The veggies that went with it were perfectly cooked and seasoned making the complimentary side a perfect addition to the delicious chicken.
We want to thank everyone at Somerset for providing the service and taste we definitely admired.

Somerset was a satisfying dining experience - the food was well done, service attentive and the ambiance of the historic building and courtyard made for a nice evening out. Apparently, the pastry chef is renowned in Chicago and we enjoyed a creative and decadent end to the meal. One table next to us came by only for the dessert and they seemed to be local foodies based on their convo which I was definitely not intentionally listening to.

First, this place is so incredibly beautiful! The gold and blue decor looks so vintage yet modern at the same time. The food was also really amazing. I ordered French toast and it did not disappoint! And finally, the service was top tier. I can’t remember our waiter name but he made to sure to take care of us and we were even gifted a dessert since we were celebrating my cousin’s upcoming wedding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful breakfast place with a few different vegetarian options. I loved the Avocado Toast. The breakfast potatoes are the absolute best and should not be missed. The service is quick and this restaurant is in a quiet area. Would hope to come back again soon.

Honestly, order EVERYTHING lol(laughing but serious) I ordered the chicken sandwich.....O...M..G! It was so good. It was about 13 of us, and EVERYONE loved this place. The atmosphere is elegant, the service was 10/10 and the food.... whew.. I'll definitely be back.....SOON!

My friends (3 total) take me out for my b day every year and wanted to try this place since it has such amazing decor. Everything g was perfect, I walked in they said that they have good table to see people as requested (thank you two young gentleman hosts!), we do family style so we shared bunch of appetizers and for dinner we had salmon and stake and bread board (must have), everything was really good and service was very on point. Could not ask for better experience, thank you Somerset and it’s employees !

I stayed at the Viceroy and had the pleasure of eating at Somerset two different times for breakfast and dinner. The food is delicious and comes out very quickly. The staff are very friendly and attentive. This is by far one of the best hotel restaurants I have ever been too. I would recommend eating here even if you are not staying at the hotel. It was all around five stars.

After a long day of flying, my group of 6 walked down to Somerset for a late dinner. We had reservations and we're seated quickly near the back of the restaurant which had a great view of their impressive bar. The atmosphere was great, and our server was super friendly and good natured, even as we ordered a round of Malort.
I had the steak, which was perfectly cooked and in an absolute killer sauce. A friend got the ravioli which was also delightful, not too heavy even with the rich sauce. For me however, the highlight of the meal was the dessert which we a chocolate mousse with a delicious cappuccino crumble and a sticky toffee banana pudding.
While the portions weren't huge, it did allow for everyone to feel free to try everything - kind of like you would at tapas- and between that and our very good drinks, we had a great time.

Nice atmosphere located right next to the Viceroy hotel in downtown Chicago. We went for a light, late night dinner and food was delicious. We ordered the bread and butter board which was amazing. French onion soup, shrimp cocktail and salmon. The salmon was good not great but the appetizers and soup were very good!

I have ate here twice. Last night for dinner. I had Jose as a server who was very friendly. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return. I wish I had taken pictures of the food but I was too hungry lol. But I promise it was very good.

I tried their short rib shakshuka and it taste really good. Beef so tender and flavorful. croissant taste good too. For the sandwhich my honest opinion just so-so. Service is excellent and a nice ambiance.

Amazing food with excellent service! The server was attentive and helpful when ordering. She did have a slight attitude, but it was not expressed toward me. I just picked up on it, so it threw off the ambience a bit. I had the brioche French toast with the lobster eggs Benedict. It was some of the best brunch I have had in a while! I will be back

Have been here for brunches and lunch and have enjoyed the food and service every time. Our server Jesse is on point, food is delicious and the environment is Art Deco style and inviting. I would definitely recommend. Great job Boca Group!

Beautiful space and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I didn't try a specialty drink, just had macallan. I ordered steak tartare and was less than impressed. Way overdressed with this mustard sauce that hid the theoretical flavor of the beef.... I also had a burrata salad which was good, creamy and delicate, but had so little flavor. So again, one was overdressed, the other was bland. I'd go back, and maybe try dinner but probably just for drinks and the atmosphere.

This is a beautiful restaurant with really good food, however there are some shortfalls that need attention. The service was not good. We had to call our server over several times to take our drink order, take our food order, etc. When someone in my party asked for a suggestion on the wines, the server suggested the most expensive wine by the glass, which I always have an issue with. The food was very good though very costly for the portions that were served.
I would go back for cocktails or lunch, but not sure I would choose that for dinner when there's so many other restaurants around that are better value.

What a change from the Cedar Hotel where we used to go for cheap beer in the 90s! The decor is dramatic, yet inviting and manages to have a fun vibe despite the organized chaos in the background.
Our server, Suzanne was super attentive and friendly. I haven’t had venison much in Chicago so I was excited to see it on the menu, and it was delicious.
I’ll definitely be back to try more from this menu...

After reading lots of reviews I wanted to check this new restaurant out for myself. The ambience and restaurant is beautiful and credit should go out to the designer. It’s a perfect spot for brunch. However, 3 stars is based on the service. We had a group of 8 people for a birthday brunch and the service couldn’t have been slower or below par. It took 45mins to get drinks and this was after several reminders. Coffee was served without spoons and little attention to detail was missed. Catching the attention of our server, reminding her of our drinks or even coffee was sadly not what a big group desires for brunch. Hoping the service improves as the food was well delivered and flavorful. The menu was well designed and catered to all ages and appetites.
