Somerset

My family and I went there around 11am on a Friday.The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The server was friendly but not very knowledgeable. The vegetables and greens tasted fresh but some dishes lacked flavor. The Caesar salad was presented as maybe half a romaine with leaves in tact which means you'll have to do your own cutting to provide bite size pieces for your mouth. The fries were seasoned with a barbecue dust that resembles those of Freddie's. I'm not a barbecue fan so I wouldn't order them again. It was nice for a one time meal however nothing really attractive to make me come back to eat. The drinks were delicious however, good place to have brunch drinks with friends before heading out on the town.

My friends (3 total) take me out for my b day every year and wanted to try this place since it has such amazing decor. Everything g was perfect, I walked in they said that they have good table to see people as requested (thank you two young gentleman hosts!), we do family style so we shared bunch of appetizers and for dinner we had salmon and stake and bread board (must have), everything was really good and service was very on point. Could not ask for better experience, thank you Somerset and it’s employees !

Amazing food with excellent service! The server was attentive and helpful when ordering. She did have a slight attitude, but it was not expressed toward me. I just picked up on it, so it threw off the ambience a bit. I had the brioche French toast with the lobster eggs Benedict. It was some of the best brunch I have had in a while! I will be back

We were really excited to try this restaurant. I loved the decor and atmosphere. The food fell a bit short for me though. As odd as it sounds, the French toast was very, very sweet; I couldn't even use syrup with it. The overall taste of the French toast was good, the berries were a lovely addition as was the marscapone cheese. We also got a sandwich which was pretty good. I would likely go back, but I'd try something else.

Went for brunch and it was great. Baklava croissant was our favorite! Definitely get it. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of the spoiled overall experience due to flies inside the restaurant. When asked them to close the door, their response was that they cannot as they have a customer sitting outside and so they need to keep the door open until they leave. Could have just opened it as needed at the time of serving them!

Somerset was a satisfying dining experience - the food was well done, service attentive and the ambiance of the historic building and courtyard made for a nice evening out. Apparently, the pastry chef is renowned in Chicago and we enjoyed a creative and decadent end to the meal. One table next to us came by only for the dessert and they seemed to be local foodies based on their convo which I was definitely not intentionally listening to.

🦋Attached to the Viceroy Chicago hotel, this restaurant has a large patio and beautiful décor that seamlessly flows between the restaurant and hotel. Designed with stunning gold finishes, the atmosphere shares elegance and pizazz all in one. We sat in a round booth which made us feel happy and comfortable…and a little boujee 👸🏿🤴🏽. Our waiter was quick to greet us and share the drink and food selections with us. We each got a light beer. I got a chilled pea soup which was amazing…if you’re into chilled soups. I love pea soup but never knew that I didn’t like chilled soups. Nevertheless, it was really good and they even poured the soup into the bowl right in front of us 🤩🤩. We decided to share the air fried chicken. It was really good. Super moist chicken breast that was not greasy at all (thanks to the air fry). The veggies that went with it were perfectly cooked and seasoned making the complimentary side a perfect addition to the delicious chicken. We want to thank everyone at Somerset for providing the service and taste we definitely admired. This is our experience. What’s yours? 🦋
