I came across this restaurant from seeing a review here on Google, & it definitely lived up to the hype! We had chips & salsa, classic strawberry margaritas 🍓🍹, queso fundido with the works, & chicken & steak tacos🌮 🌮 Everything was superb 👌🏾 the ambiance was warm, with candle lighting on the table, the service was top tier, and the crowd was very mixed with the age & ethnicity of the customers. Yes, for a Mexican restaurant, it is PRICEY, but if you're like me, a great experience is worth the price. & this one was. Absolutely had a memorable date night & we will return again🤍
This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! We just happened to come during the special 15th anniversary menu and were able to try three different kinds of tacos. They were all great, but the carne was our favorite. We also really liked the guac and corn as well. Their drinks were also very tasty! Everything was very good and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back!
Stopped here for an early dinner. We sat at the bar and got served really quickly. Staff was very friendly and the food was very tasty. If you get a small plate I’d definitely recommend the Queso Fundido w/ Chorizo. Such a good meal.
A very good Mexican restaurant in the downtown Chicago. It is near to the merchandise mart, Clark bridge and open until 10:30/11:00 pm (check daily schedule). The interior setting is very nice with good seating space for large parties as well as a bar to hangout if you would like. Their have very good quick bites options like varieties of guacamole (like their mango one :)) and other ones. The service is good generally except when their are a lot of guests in the restaurant. A valet parking is available in case the road side paid parking is not available, that is generally the case during evenings.
Great place, recommend if you’re seeking Mexican food.
Chips w/ guac and salsa were great. Everything was fresh. Guac had a lot of fresh lemon juice, which I like. The salsa had a solid kick to it (we got the medium version).
Had carne tacos and loved them. Skirt steak had a great grill flavor. Star of the tacos for me was the leek poblano fondue. Deep flavor of the leeks and poblano peppers. A perfect complement to skirt steak. Tortillas were good.
Also had a mezcal cocktail with the right amount of smoke and spicy that I wanted.
Wow! We went there on a busy Saturday night and loved the vibrant and lively vibe! The Pollo (chicken) and Carne (steak) tacos were great but we really loved their Pastor (pork & pineapple) tacos. Great decor and even better food!
5 stars across the board. What an amazing experience. Wonderful atmosphere, Phenomenal food and well poured drinks. Service was top tier.
Tacos were delicious. The mushrooms were particularly good. I liked the shrimp tacos but they were a little spicy
If anyone needs a reason to move to Chicago, Mercadito is your one and only reason to do so
When I was in Chicago, I used to come here or get delivery at least once a week
My ABSOLUTE favorite thing here is the steak tacos, specifically in lettuce wrap form.
I cannot even begin to describe these tacos. They're tender. They're savory. The TOPPINGS??? THE ONIONS??? Get out. They're so 5-star, they've changed my brain chemistry to try to reverse engineer them.
Their flavors are out of this world.
The people here are great.
The vibe isn't *my* vibe but it's a happening place to be if you want to have fun on a weekend night.
Mercadito team - Just know there's a girl out there who loves your food and would LOVE to see you on Goldbelly or something <3
This is a social spot with great ambiance and good vibes. Definitely a place to mingle and meet professionals. Maybe even great for meeting a great guy if you single( wink) A upscale restaurant with 2 floors. The salmon was good but kinda bland, little to no flavor. My guy friends tacos were delicious . Plating was nice, service was attentive. I would come with alone to mingle, or with a female friend. Small tables
