Ambience and staff top notch. The dishes score top, top notch. Each dish unique with flavor combos I never would have thought of but just a bite of each item made us almost cry...it was that delicious. Definitely will be returning with both in town and out of town guests. How lucky we are Emanuel and the amazing Andrew Zimmerman are right here in Chicago!
I love this place! The cocktails are amazing and the vegetarian options are decent. We ordered the radishes, and burrata. We were still hungry, so we ordered the potatoes carbonara without meat. It's was, without a doubt, the best thing I've ever eaten there. This visit was about my fifth.
We’ve been searching for a new go to restaurant in Chicago for a while with limited success. Had some nice meals but nothing that would bring us back for a second visit until now. We had a wonderful delicious meal last weekend. A creative mix of Mediterranean, Indian, Mexican, East Asian cuisine that hit the mark on every dish. We went the a la carte route but would gladly try the Chefs Menu next time. Hard to pick the best dishes but I’d say the Mushrooms, Pork Belly, Smoked carrot dip, and Hawaiian bread top my list. But really I don’t think you can go wrong anywhere. Was able to snag a last minute seat at the counter which is always my favorite. Appreciated watching the crisp efficient professionalism of Chef Zimmerman. Knowledgeable and friendly service topped off a wonderful evening.
Incredible. We had the chef's tasting menu. Truly a journey for your taste buds - global inspiration, and fun textures. We particularly enjoyed the masa cavatelli. We wished the sweet potato was more adventurous. Excellent service throughout our experience.
Amazing food. Wish I came with a plus one so I could have ordered the courses menu, but some of my absolute favorites were the elote (I’m not a fan of elote/fried/cheese and it was still amazing). Also the Banh Kot is a must! I was not a fan of the octopus. I would go back and order something different if I could, but over all no regrets!
Also I sat at the counter and it felt like 30min between dishes. If I could go back I would tell the waiter I wanted everything at once or something like that.
Highly recommend the tasting menu and wine pairing - the wines were surprising and wonderful discoveries and the food was delicious. Truly excellent quality/price ratio!
We shared small plates at Happy Hour and it was amazing. Super attentive service, and our waitress got us an extra Al pastor hot dog so everyone at the table could try. I believe she also gave me a discount on the mocktail I had to order off the regular menu because I forgot my ID and didn’t realize until I tried to order a Happy Hour cocktail… embarrassing.
But the amazing food and service made up for it, and my shaved ice mocktail was AMAZING. I would definitely come back for the full menu on a special occasion. We spent just under $30 each for three people sharing a bunch of plates, two drinks, and a shared dessert.
I don’t know where to begin… great atmosphere and service per expectations. The tasting menu though?! The starter Poached King Salmon Salad with
young coconut, trout roe and peanut was one of the best things I have ever eaten period. Let alone tonight. The true stars ( other than seeing the chef and having Andrew wave at me) were the Pumpkin & Goat Cheese Tamale
With a pasilla-piloncillo sauce and pepitas as well as the main dish of Smoked Prime Short Rib with a mole coloradito, black bean and charred onion. Mole ice cream also an absolute must. I hope to one day be able to be a diner of Sepia, their sister Michelin Star restaurant. But this was quite the introduction to Chef Andrew. I can’t stress enough how important it is to visit this restaurant if you’ve never been. Can not preach on a higher podium.
[Celiac - gluten free review] Delicious Asian fusion tapas place, excellent flavors. I was a bit nervous going to a new place but I was reassured before I even stepped foot in the restaurant. I had sent an email to understand what could be made gluten free on the menu and they responded thoroughly, item by item. When I arrived at the restaurant, they gave me a personal menu that had been marked by the chef, detailing what I couldn’t have and what had cross contamination (mostly a la carte). I could still choose from about 70% of the menu and we chose all dishes from the a la carte. We started with the carrot dip, they substituted bread for crudités - it was delicious and smoky. Then we had the crispy rice crepes which were delicious and my favorite for sure - they had shrimp and pork belly. Our main was the Indonesian chicken and it was so moist and delicious. For dessert, we got the corn cake thing which was good. Highly recommend for a nice dinner!
We had the best happy hour here - food was excellent and cute, drinks were fantastic and HH goes till 630 even on Friday. We liked the atmosphere and the decor of the place. Thank you for hosting us!
Really delicious tapas/fusion spot. We sat on the patio for a more casual experience, enjoying summer cocktails and several dishes to share. It's hard to find restaurants with truly unique and interesting dishes, and this is definitely one. Everything was very thoughtful and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the endive and apple salad and the tempura elotes.
Wow! What a delicious experience. All the food we had was amazing, the drinks were spectacular and the ambiance was perfect. We did not plan ahead and therefore did not have reservations. We were able to walk in and sit at the bar. I would totally return to dine her again.
